There is a minimum BPM for the tap-tempo and that minimum is technically the same for an external pulse (which can also be an external tap). This minimum is about 2 seconds, as in if more than 2 seconds go by after a tap it just forgets about it and expects the next tap to be the first of a new tap-tempo set. This limit is done to allow people to tap in new tempos without it getting caught up on the last tap if it was “too long ago”. But also the way the debounce works it becomes increasingly unreliable at very low tempos. MIDI Clock may work with the Mod Rex at lower tempos like that. Also, depending on what they’re trying to do, they could double the tempo (so 80bpm instead of 40) and cut the division for each modulation their going for in half.

Its a buffered out. It should not be noisy unless you are running high gain.
