I have a small clone and it does the same thing.

When you turn all your gear on, zero the amp’s volume and switch on-off several times your tru bypass pedals.

I found that doing this helps a little bit because it discharges some capacitors… (I guess that’s what happens… I’m not very electronically inclined).

Are you please able to this and tell us please if it DOES truly help or if it is just my imagination.

Or maybe it’s just the voices in my head toying with me!

    Cheers.

I noticed that helped a bit but it’s not good practice as you are going to wear down the foot switch.

Should be alright if you switch it 2 or 3 times before each session wouldn’t it? I mean… those switches are tougher than chuck norris!!!

I use a SKB Stage 5 (SKB-55). The power supply on that thing is awesome.

I’m currently running 10 pedals, 8 being powered by the SBK-55. The other two are really tricky to power, otherwise the whole lot would be on the SBK-55 power supply.

The pedals powered up by the SKB-55 are:

Vox Wah, MXR Phase 90, MXR Microamp, Digitech Whammy, EHX BMP, EHX Smal CLone, Danelectro Coolca Fuzz, Danelectro Coolcat Tremelo.

    Pedals I couldn’t power from the SKB-55:

Ibanez TK-999 and EHX #1 Echo. In both cases the current draw is the culprit. The TK-999 is a valve based Distortion and requires a high current. The #1 Echo is just a weird little fellow regarding power.

The main feature on this board for me is the PWR supply. Dead quite!!!! and plenty of possible configurations for polarity, plugs, currents and voltages. Some of the power outlets can even be voltage adjusted from 4 to 12 volts.

I bought a Coolcat Fuzz (V2) few months back and the thing is absolutely awesome.

Last week got the Cool cat tremolo… also pretty good.

Not to mention price is ridiculously low!!!

I’m a EHX Freak but there’s definitely a few spots on my board for some Danelectro “dark horses”.

I’m actually thinking of getting the Transparent OD just to complement my tone.

    Current signal chain is:

Guitar -> Line buffer -> Vox Wah -> Digitech Whammy -> Danelectro coolcat Tremelo (Danelectro) -> MXR Phase 90 -> MXR Microamp -> Danelectro Coolcat Fuzz V2 -> Ibanez TK-999 -> EHX BMP -> EHX Small Clone -> EHX #1 Echo -> Vox AC-4TVH

hm interesting. i’ve never really been fond of the appearance of most factory boards. i dislike velcro. i also don’t like to SEE the power supply. the only major issue i’d change right now would be the powering of my board most of them are powered by 2 regulated/filtered adapters daisychained. there’s really very little noise but i’m thinking i’d love a more professional power supply under there.

I don’t like the velcro thing either. What I do is to keep an old pillow on top of the pedals to keep them in place when I’m not playing and transporting the pedal board. It fits perfectly and protects the pedals.

This pedal board was the “EUREKA” sort of thing when I bought it!

Yeah… I’m also always tampering with my setup. Pedals come and go… but I got to a board now that I’m quite happy with.

Have you tried the SKB-55 (Stage 5)?

The power supply in it is very good and all well integrated. My pedals are dead silent as far as hum and hiss. And it’s easy to setup for playing:

    – Open the case
    – Plug into power
    – Plug guitar in
    – Plug to amp

    And ready to go!

i’m entertaining the idea of selling the vintage one.

And why would you do that?

well… basically the word “vintage” is meaningless to me. cash is cash.

    Have you compared both?

You’d obviously make good money selling the old BMP. But wait until you have both with you and test them side by side for more than one afternoon.

I’ve regretted selling pedals in the past finding out that some (not all) re-issues are crap in comparison and the vintage that are available cost small fortunes.

Don’t get me wrong. I have a new BMP and it sounds awesome. But if I had a vintage I’d be quite hesitant to sell it to buy a re-issue.

But well… It’s your pedal… your money … your tone … you do whatever pleases you and make someone else happy!!!

Your set up is quite cool, by the way!!!

I’m going to run the amp I built into a dummy load with a line out to bring it back down to a safe level so it won’t harm the 44 magnum. That way I can insert effects post power amp distortion, similar to EVH’s early rig.

    Now we’re talking.

What are you going to use for the dummy load?

The problem I see with it is:

Your amp’s output into another amp input: How do you plan to match impedance/power/etc?

    Questions to ask:

    – What’s the output inpedance of your amp?
    – What’s the input impedance of the Magnun?

Connecting the output of your amp into another amp could damage both amps.

I’d love to be wrong because I would like to connect my Vox AC4 into “something magical” to boost it’s output. But I never found a solution to do that other than mic’ing it into a PA.

I don’t know of any solution where you can connect a speaker output into some sort of power amp input, unless you create a box that apply a load to simulate a speaker load and avoid frying yout amp and bring the output to a line level so you can connect it to another amp.

Overall the POG2 is a better pedal. But doesn’t have that specific feature (for only A&E strings)

And to be honest I wiped out all boss pedals out of my pedalboard. But that’s just me! :metal:

I think the Boss OC-3 does something like that.

Some other multi-effects(Boss) can do similar things.

Otherwise you would have to have some sort of special pickup and different guitar outputs going into different pedals and amps.

There’s a company in Brazi lthat builds boutique amps and pedals.

They have an analog delay that has something similar.

    http://mgmusic.com.br/

    The website is being rebuilt.

These guys are genious and are known in the Brazilian market for exellency in their products.

this used to happen when I used 3′ hosa cables on dock 4 of my patch bay. for whatever reason, it was the right length to pick up radio. then I wrapped the outside of the patch bay [except the patch points] with aluminum foil and it went away.

    I’d love to see a photo…
