Tuning that low I’d recommend the Bass MicroSynth too

in reply to: BASS EFFECTS … but … ALL of them #109747

Hello fellow bassist! For Chorus and Flange I use a Stereo Electric Mistress, but a Boss Bass Chorus might do as well since it’s more lush and has a knob to “set” how far low the chorus gets. The tremolo does sound a bit muddy on the low end, but not to the point of not wanting to use it (Or at leas I do ;D). Delay is a dangerous effect for us bassists, however, since from time to time a soong will have tempo breaks or intros that’s where I always sneak some Chorus+Delay (My fave combination <3 )
Also most of EHX’s fuzzes are available. I use a Little Big Muff because I’ve never got around the Green/Sovtek Muff’s sound. Dunno, it’s just me
Finally you may want to try an octavier like the P.O.G. or a “multi-FX” like the Bass Micro Synth (Octave, distortion and envelope), my personal next aquisition after I replace my tubesim overdrive

PS: I’ve heard some bassists use the English Muff’n as a tube overdribe, so you might want to check that out =)

    Any help is welcome! D=

in reply to: Post your Pedalboard #103556

This is my bass board. The LPB-1 and Boss LS-2 are currently lent, the Digitech RP50 is no longer used

1- Little Big Muff (Blended with my clean bass signal it’s so effing SYNTHesque!!)
    2- Stereo Electric Mistress (My to-go Chorus/Flange)
3- Stereo Pulsar (Would somebody add STEREO IN‘s on all of the Stereo XO pedals, please?)
4- LPB 1 (That slight treble boost you get is really good after AND before dirt)

in reply to: Stereo Pulsar #103567

I’ve had it for circa two or three weeks and I bought it because it sounds incredibly warm!! After a Big Muff and in it’s square wave it sounds really techo/electro on my bass. Adding a bit of flange from my Stereo electric Mistress is just experimental eargasms
It’s also great to start a song off. Play a note with the rate all the way down and then speed it up and BOOM, off you go!!
Seriously, I use only a few settings, but I’m sure it’s gonna kick butt in the studio next week

I might be asking in the wrong forum, but since I’ve seen a lot of it mentioned I’ll ask: What’s the effects loop for? Does it differ from the one on my Bass amp?
I looked for answers on the net before posting but nothing relevant came up =S

thanks for the reply. What I like to do is strum something on my bass walk off stage with it repeating what i’ve just played…

    Oh, then: No
It’d start “burning” the repeats until they turn into feedback. As someone above said, you’d need a digital delay for that like the Boss DD-7 or the likes

in reply to: Memory Toy #107949

You can make it self-oscilate (quite easily, by the way) if that’s what you’re asking…

Hmm, I find interesting all of these replies. I currently have a Line6 Echo Park, but I’m thinking I’ll leave it only for studio recording (“Analog” ping-pong delay is fucking delicious) and am looking for a nice analog delay. Too bad the Memory toy has such a short delay time =/

1- Little Big Muff (Killer on my bass)
2- Stereo Electric Mistress (It’s a mistress and she’s stereo!!)
3- LBP-1 (Helps a lot gettin’ over the top)

I’ll get the Micro POG and maybe a Small Stone or Bassballs anytime soon as my music shall require

in reply to: Stereo Electric Mistress XO #101300

The hell are you talking about guys? The SEM is just delicious!! Even thought the chorus is not so good, the combiation of both Chorus and Flanger is wicked (Try it after a Muff)
I loved it over the Small Clone, Nano Clone, and Clone Theory. Tried’em all out looking for a chorus and this one won for the C/F combination alone (as I said, the chorus by itself isn’t THAT great)

I just got this pedal and have played it several times over the weekend. Like most of the XO pedals I found it to very sensitive in terms of the wide array of tones you can get between the Volume, Tone and Distortion knobs. I was very pleased with the tones I got from my bass through the pedal. Then this morning I realized my Russian Muff wasn’t working and I had a rehearsal playing guitar for a funk band. So I brought the blogger and tried the drive mode on guitar and got some awesome tones as well. Very cool pedal.

What about the OD on bass?

in reply to: Small Stone & LPB-1 #101298

Oh boy, the LPB-1 has done wonders for me. I used to use it for pushing my Little Big Muff over the top with my bass. Before a distortion it boosts the gain and just a little bit of the volume. However when I put it inside my Boss LS-2 (A must for a distortion using bassist) it beheaves really weird, so I now use it AFTER the LBM, as a volume boost instead of overdrive
My only complain would be that it, by itself, fattens up your tone. It’s ok for me, since I use that as some sort of tone switch, but guitar tone purists have been let down by this fact several times before.

    Yes,it works both ways.

Hey Jules, thanks for the answer. I got most of the materials, but my friend told me that since it’s a pasive splitter I’ll probably lose a lot of signal strenght. Is that true? Is there a way to make it active or something like that?
Also, d’you think you’d have any Schematics/Layouts/etc to a Boss LS-2 like A+B Looper? I realised that I’d need to do two signal splitters (One splitting and another re-uniting) since I own only one amp n_nU
Thanks in advance for all the attention spent =P
