January 23, 2011 at 7:56 pm in reply to: NEO MISTRESS’S SOUND?… IS THIS BASED ON THE DELUXE, VINTAGE OR STEREO ELECTRIC MISTRESS? #113964ed2000_8Member
I dont want to judge this before i have listened to a demo or tried it out, but i cant help thinking why they did’nt make this like the Memory toy? basing the sound on the vintage/deluxe E.M with three controls for rate, range, colour and a switch for the filter matrix!
I really do hope that the Neo Mistress is great, because i really would like to have something that sounds as great as my E.M deluxe but in a smaller, more robust encasement!… Oh and an LED light would be handy!
Im not a Nano/XO series cynic, i genuinely hope this is a great pedal but can’t help having my doubts!!!!!!!!!!!October 30, 2010 at 1:40 pm in reply to: IT IS TIME TO DOWNSIZE THE DELUXE ELECTRIC MISTRESS!!!!!!!!! #112300ed2000_8MemberI think it is inevitable that EHX are going to do a XO version of the Deluxe Electric Mistress!
From a personal point i would like it to have an LED light, original artwork and for it to be the same size as the stereo electric mistress and micro pog!July 25, 2010 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Micro POG- effects loop?… front of amp?…. where in the chain??? #110482ed2000_8Membercheers!!!!
ed2000_8MemberI am aware that vibrato is basically chorus speeded up! my reason why i would like to see a ehx nano vibrato pedal is i am a big fan of blur guitarist graham coxon who is famed for his use of the boss vb-2 vibrato i love his use of this effect on the intro to one of blurs great tracks chemical world i just cant replicate this with a chorus pedal it sounds ok and i dont like the xo clone theory!
ed2000_8MemberBasically just what you said about the panasonic chips alone i have no knowledge about the parts used or what goes into the making of these pedals i just listen with my ears! I do appreciate you enlightening me with your knowledge in this area but what i dont appreciate is you trying to patronize me you must feel really big!!!!!!!!!!!!
ed2000_8MemberBeing serious you do raise some good points!!!!
ed2000_8Membertouche!!!!
ed2000_8MemberI am aware that the current clone theory is analog maybe i should have gone into more detail it just sounds metalic and maybe correct me if iam wrong (because iam no expert!) is it digital producing analog chorus & vibrato? My point why i started this topic is because my friend has the previous model of the holy grail (he also being a more experienced guitarist and having more knowledge on effects!) and i have the nano holy grail we tried them out side by side and we agreed there is little difference in sound if anything the nano sound a little better! I just cant understand why ehx cant make all the nano and xo series as good as their predecessors!!!!
ed2000_8MemberI just checked out a couple of demos on youtube of the original vintage clone theory and then the recent xo clone theory and the difference is massive!… The vintage one sounds analog and warmer… i really liked it and then the latest xo one which sounded metalic and digital i didnt like it at all! Im not one of these people that wants to see reissues equally not against it either i just would like to see ehx go back to the drawing board with some of these xo & nano failures (e.g the xo clone theory, nano small stone and the nano small clone!) but i do believe the nano and xo series can work because there has also been success stories (e.g the holy grail nano & pog 2) i just think if ehx are to push and enhance the reputation of the nano & xo series they really do have to go back the drawing board with some of the earlier incarnations!!!!!!!!
ed2000_8Memberalso it should come with an LED light!!!!
