Most analog delays are going to be dark but I find the MB to be darker. I’m about to put mine on ebay for probably 90 buy it now if you’re interested. It’s been used only about 3 hours and have only had it 2 weeks with box and everything that came with it.

As for the power supply comment above…I thought my MB came with a power supply. And another comment about the modulation being too sensitive I have to agree my MM is like that as well but I never used the modulation I just love the delay on it. Is there anyway to put better or different Ic chips in the memory boy?

Just got mine in yesterday and played with it for about an hour or so comparing it to my original DMM and DD-5. I don’t have the expression pedal. But I’ve got to admit, so far my impression on this pedal isn’t very good. It needs a level knob added to it cause it’s very dark and hard to hear the repeats no matter how you set it….unless you turn the blend knob to about 3 oclock but then is washes out your original signal. You have to turn the blend knob atleast halfway up to get a good sound. Also, there seems to be modulation in the delays even when the depth is completely off. The delay knob is weird as well. I would think that halfway would be about 250ms but it isnt…and it’s very sensitive. Small incremints make a big difference. I was going to send it back but I think I’ll keep it just try it some more. It’s worth 98 though! Guess I was just expecting it to sound a little better. You can definately get some crazy sounds out of it though if you’re in to that kind of stuff.

I don’t use them all at once lol. I just keep 2 on my board and when I figure which 2 I like the most the rest will be sold.

Well I will have 5 delays now! However, I’m about to put my blue deluxe on ebay and possibly my classic chassis deluxe.

I still don’t see any reason to get it now that you can get the memory boy. I just bought a memory boy off ebay for 98 with free shipping!

I used to have the classic chassis version. I bought it used and the only effect useful on it was the Phaser which sounded amazing! The trem was pretty descent but you had to dial in the right sound. I don’t know if my was a defect or what but I thought the autowah and vibrato sucked. I’d buy a new version for about 80 for the phaser alone.

The chip under the pots is a 4047 to drive the SADs, of which there are are 4 of them. The other large IC is a 570 compander IC. The 4 small ones are run of the mill 4558s.

If you see ’77 on a pot, go with that. EH-1307 is the model #.
I don’t think anybody needs a pic of the pots.

Thanks alot bro I waiting for you to chime in.

That’s strange cause it’s directly in the same line as the Reticons. Should I bend these pots back and take a picture of them to but on ebay when I sale? I’m afraid I’ll break them. Also, anyone know anything else about the other chips?

True. From what I’ve heard though, the Time Machine is not one of them.

I’ve heard their boss knockoffs are pretty good though.

I’ve only seen heard one review of it and it was positive. I’d still get the memory boy without thinking though. Actually, I may even sell one of my DMM’s and get an MB just because you can control the delay with an expression pedal. Sure beats using your big toe like I do on most of my EHX pedals ha!

I will admit that I’ve never tried one though so it might be a jewel. Some behringer products are like that and are extremely good for the price. On the downside they have a tendancy to break easily and very inconsistant.

I agree definately go with the Memory Boy. It will be smaller, have more options, and probably sound alot better on top of being built better. Don’t get me wrong there’s a place for behringer equipment and I have a few pieces myself but this one’s a no brainer.

You can fix the volume drop with a simple resistor value change.
There’s details in the mods pages.

    Where is that?

Really…I’ve heard that those have a pretty descent volume drop and the nano is better. Oh well..

the nano sounds great, and i liked the black russian stone too, but i tried it side by side next to a new usa one and the usa one beat it out by far (to my ears at least)

By USA one do you mean Nano?
