The place of the MXR MIcro amp should be chosen for the way you’ll use it. If you’re looking for gain, put it with your dirtboxes, if it’s volume you use it for, put it closer to the end of the chain
To be honest, I don’t use modular synth, but the general idea of EHX modules is IMO worthwhile
These guys are ready to shell out a bunch for their setup, so why not give them a chance ? I bet they’d be all over some rather cheap effects modules. Many EHX designs such as the Memory Boy don’t require lots of mods to implement CV, I guess it would be an easy deal. Probably not on EHX’s map, though That board is lovely

Dear EHX – go MIDI ! Make Hazarai with MIDI and at least 20 presets and I won’t have these problems ! EHX delays rule ! But I need MIDI !
It’s nowhere close to cheaper rack stuff. I used to have the DMM, an Aqua Puss, a Line 6 M9, a Roland SDE-2500 and was planning on adding a tape unit somewhere along the line… Now the Timeline gets them all covered nicely and brings countless possibilities and convenient features in a way smaller package.
