    damn i was thinking again:

this may come a bit late, but wouldn’t it be great if the 8 step program sequencer had a Expression Pedal Through?

What i mean is – it’s got CV out and an EP/CV in.

If the pedal was in bypass, the Expression Pedal would go through to the CV input of the controlled pedal.

say: EP > CV in > 8 STEP PROGRAM > CV out > CV in > maybe RIDDLE.
8 Step Program Play: EP controlles 8 Step Program EP modes
8 Step Program Stop/Bypass: EP controlles Riddle (for Pedal-Wah).

This way you could use both ways at once!

Is it too late to add this? Is this possible at all?

would be killer. anyway – great, that the 8 step program gets real!

    EHX rules!

i don’t want to flood you forum, but now there also has to come a new stereo tremolo/pan pedal with CV in!

come on EHX – i want an all-Electro-Harmonix-Pedalboard and am lacking a few things.

    …and now it’s a must have, that it will have a CV/EP-In.

    With the 8 step program you’d have a step-flanger.

please imagine a thru-zero-step-flange in random mode!!!!

    cheers

    hi marclr17,

EHX Team would be hypergreat! :-)

..but no, i only discovered a small door in my office on floor 7 1/2, which leads into Mike Matthews mind. ;-)

it says in the youtube vid, that the new footcontroller pedal could not be used with the HOG(1)?!

if this is true, i really am very disappointed, as EHX tells us this way, that they don’t care much for older pedals – i mean, the HOG2 may be better tracking and have midi implementation, but for what it does, it’s exactly the same as the first HOG, which still is a groundbreaking pedal i use all the time.

as far as i can tell, the idea for a “hazarai-like” presetpedal came out of the forum, so it’s a bit sad, that this pedal now evolves but is not compatible with the original HOG pedal.

i really am a great fan of ehx products, but this was not very well done – if it’s true that the preset pedal could not be used with older pedals, especially the HOG (1).

will there be a version, that will be universally working with older pedals with presets (HOG1, 2880)?!

    i really do hope so.

what we people really needed i think was a footcontroller that was smaller than the 6-switch monster. for me 6 or maybe 10 presets would have been enough, but the old controller is nearly as big as the HOG itself.

    still hoping.

    best regards

Seems like this has been done bevore by EHX:

    http://www.polynominal.com/site/studio/gear/synth/electro-harmonix-drum-sequencer/electro-harmonix-drum-sequencer.html

Now, I played a little with the idea and came up with a small layout.

wouldn’t THAT be a cool pedal?!

    c’mon everybody!

    cheers

    one more thing!

there could be a toggle switch to start the flanging everytime you tap it (so you could get the effect of the jetflange or crazy stutters and warbles (with tapping more often)!

i so hope this pedal will come true!

    cheers

    1. sell it to a punk (the pedal)
    2. get a new one (pedal)
    3. sell it to a chinese cook (the cat)

Freeze looks indeed very GASy :-)

i already got the hog, so a freeze note or chord is not the main thing for me, but still.

BUT – what it could have been: a small, no brain looper for either frozen chords/notes or small licks and samples, lets say, up to 10 or 20 secs.
same function as in freeze with latch switching – either you just freeze a note or you play a small lick and “freeze” that by staying on the switch for the wanted time.

then again with decay or – next tap is delete and record again at the same time…

would have made this much more interesting.

    but still – great one!

hope, there are a few more pedals in store though!

    best regards

i think the stereo polyphase sounds very good.

it is a bit of a trial to find the right start/stop settings. it’s much easier with the expression pedal plugged in, so you really can find the sweet spots (like in the riddle!).

great thing here, that’s missing in the riddle, is you can choose the EP-setting via switch and don’t have to unplug the pedal! strange, EHX didn’t do this within the riddle.

what i found rather strange was – in stereo setup, the start frequency is left, and the stop right.?!?!
it doesn’t sound bad, but it is strange and unpracticable: deep phasing – more stereo, lush phasing – less stereo. that’s just really strange.

i don’t play much with envelope phasing, but sometimes it’s great to have.

overall, i love the sound. it can be very oldschool, but modern as well, just with a tweak to the start/stop settings.

    those knobs are revolution! fantastic!
can’t wait for a XO deluxe flanger with these knobs on it!!!

well, my tape decks got a auto-flip function. the tapehead changes to side two after the tape ends – takes only about 1 or 2 seconds – would be no big deal i think!

hey, this would be so great and the unit could be much smaller with microcassettes!!!

i’m glad there are more here who would want a XO polystereoflangey mister electric! ;-)

give it a blend, gain, start, stop, time and feedback knob. let the cycles start everytime the pedal is engaged and fully end after turning off. give it positive and neg. regen. and the jewel in the crown would be through zero!!! and of course envelope and ep input and… and…
