i nearly scored a near mint 3 knob triangle guild foxey lady for $50 but the guy looked up its value

:D That’s happened to me a few times too…but I did score a 1968 fuzzrite for $100 not long ago. Win some/Lose some).

EDIT: That triangle Foxey lady is a white whale for me. Been looking for ages. Closest I’ve come is a guy on another forum who didn’t know how to work the post office…

Here are pix of one. V3 board, V4/V5 box and graphics, with knobs usually seen on V4(and later) Muffs, not on the V3.

Kit, is that a PNP muff? w. 2N5087s? Looks like they’re in the board the wrong way round for a regular NPN muff. That’s a pretty rare bird if it is…
    Gold legs?

    Boss DC-2
Failing that, a CE-2. But DC-2 is “spatial”
John Fromel makes a great (better) clone.

“The Vatican said the 25-year-old woman involved was mentally unstable and had been taken to hospital.”

…….I’m still thinking about that remark.

    Papal bowling…

Nah, there’s definitely some kind of an octave down thing happening there as well as the octave up in the fuzz. One of those 60 guitar tracks has a blender on it… :D

now do you have an opinion to the fuzz issue on the low end of the sweep? when the color switch is in the up position?

Try cleaning the slider switch. Take it out, pull the tabs open gently and use contact cleaner on the metal parts inside (careful, it’s fiddly). It might not be the problem, but I’ve heard distortion due to dirty/bad connections in those switches and it’s a 5 min and free fix. You’ve lost nothing if it doesn’t work.

But $20? you lucky lucky lucky … very good score.

The octave thing in there on Cherub Rock makes me think there’s a blender thrown into the mix somewhere too. Then there’s the octave down in the solo…?

Necessity is the mother of invention.
I wish we could go back to bakelite instead of cheap crappy plastic that melts when you look at it…

and the “show off” comment i personally have to disagree to, he is a bit humble, be leaves in god, …

Are those two things supposed to be related in some way? Jack Tilton, Oral Roberts, Ted Haggard, Billy Graham, Peter Popoff, Jerry Falwell, Jimmy Swaggart, Rick Warren, James Dobson… none of those guys are particularly shy and retiring. There’s also this guy with the snazzy hat

although none of them do the pinch thing every 8 bars, so I’m not sure what that means :D

(Not even going to get into Ted Nugent and Chuck Norris territory…)

….anyway I thought this thread was about our favorites, not ‘the best’ or whatever?

Well, Hendrix is my favourite too :-)

List of favourite human (non-Hendrix) guitar players would maybe be Robert Fripp, Freddie King, Robin Guthrie, John Lee Hooker, Marc Ribot, David Gilmour, Tommy Bolin, Frank Zappa, Zal Cleminson, Dave Tronzo, Brian Robertson, John McLaughlin, Rory Gallagher…Hideki Ishima is interesting too…there are lots of great musicians around, and that’s without getting too far outside the rock box.
How about classical guitarists too: I’d include Celedonio Romero, David Russell, Philippe LeMaigre, Paul Galbraith, Tilman Hoppstock, Roman Viazovskiy…
Jazz? Wes Montgomery is the man!

    RoHS compliance.
The goal of RoHS is not so much to stop people eating electronics, but to stop toxic components leaching into the environment from waste. You and I know that nobody chucks a Big Muff in a landfill, but the EC doesn’t apparently. They also don’t want things being made using harmful components.
Watch Manufactured Landscapes, this, or this, to see the extent of the problem and how it goes beyond some guy not being able to buy a distortion pedal.
