Yes, it’s a bog standard Boss-style 9V centre -ve tap. Should work fine with the 1spot — I know it works fine with PP2 and an old Boss PSA adapter.
devnulljpParticipantEffectology of course…
devnulljpParticipantFor My Bloody Valentine, you’ll need a pitch shift vibrato like the old VB2 as well as your fuzz/distortion. If you really like that stuff, have a look at devi ever. In fact…
devnulljpParticipantI think what you’re looking for is this
Then of course if you’re going to drop $400 on a David Gilmour Big Muff, why not hop on ebay and buy a ram’s head?
devnulljpParticipantBad switch?

devnulljpParticipantQuote:my guesses are that the Corgan’s muff is a V3 4 Transistor Version. I’m gonna mod my bigmuff with the schematics of those versions i have. That’ll be hard — v3 is 4 transistors and v4 is a pair of ICs…
devnulljpParticipanthey, I need some pots for my ram’s heads — I have one with three XM2184 / 100k linear pots that look original.
Another with alpha replacements that are toast — different values — some 10 k others 100k.
They should all be 100k linear right?
Got a good source?devnulljpParticipantUse a dremel and drill out the stripped screws?
Batteries do sometimes leak (although I haven’t seen one do so in years…are they getting better or am I just better at remembering about them?) and you don’t want it to do that inside your pedal.
Anyway, that’s what I’d do — drill that sucker out of there. Then, maybe bung some wd40 in the screwhole when you replace it.devnulljpParticipantHey, does a 0.2uF cap in that position seem odd? My others have 0.01 and 0.05uF caps there.
devnulljpParticipantWe are all Gearmandude
I am SpartacusdevnulljpParticipantdevnulljpParticipantQuote:By the way, is there any truth to the rumour that gearmanndude is Jack Black?devnulljpParticipantNot much to tell really. I don’t like his stuff much, but he uses these soft touch switches I haven’t seen anywhere else. They don’t really click (as in physically) when you stomp on them — the feel is a bit more like a momentary switch rather than stomp-CLUNK, but it is an on/off switch (I don’t know how it works). As I remember, there was some action to it, but way less than a standard switch.
devnulljpParticipantPost pics of the front, top where the jacks are, take the back off and snap a pic, see if you can see a number on the back of the pots like 137XXXXX — if it doesn’t have a number like that, it’ll be a recent one…
Nice find though. -
