I was really pissed about the Rate not really working with flanger before 12 o’clock…

that’s because below 12 o’clock is the “filter-matrix” mode…you can manually sweep through the flange range to find a setting that tickles you and freeze it there. above 12 is when it sweeps back and forth on its own.

yes, i’m familiar with that and i hate it :D

so i tried it the day before yesterday and i wasn’t really impressed. The flanger is like “meh”… except the full depth settings, that’s hella cool. I was really pissed about the Rate not really working with flanger before 12 o’clock…

the big surprise for me was the chorus. I don’t like chorus, but the chorus on the SEM is really great! It really got me…. with my tele it’s like instant Message in the bottle :D

i kinda liked it with SMMH, but not really with distortion after or fuzz before it.

verdict: no, thank you… that pedal is not for me

ok, so next week it’s coming

i have a question… i keep on reading about the subtleness… is it really so bad? what about the polyphase into distortion – can it be heard?

i guess i’ll still buy a HOAX some day… and it’s supposed to be pretty extreme. so i guess i’ll cover more extreme ground in the future

ok, thanks… the seller still didn’t answer me, but in the meantime i got to try the SEM… boy, am i surprised… the ONLY thing i liked was the chorus :-D

if i’ll buy it, i’ll write an opinion here about… next weekend… but the seller has to write me a response!

i just found an ad for a good price… since i’m currently saving money for some modulation, i’m lucky

i was thinking about Stereo Electric Mistress or a HOAX if i get enough money, but the polyphase is a good deal and it sure is more user-friendly than HOAX and it won’t bother me with chorus like SEM (i don’T like chorus) :)

is the phasing good? can it be subtle? can it be more extreme?

i like to play some funky stuff sometimes, so the envelope filter is totally a good feature for me. But i’d probably use the phaser more

edit: and because it’s a good deal, i could get an exp.pedal and still have enough money to go on a date :D

is it noisy when you take the delay off (i presume the green box is a delay machine from behringer? )? because when you power up analog and digital pedals via the same daisychain, it can be pretty messy

anyway… nice selection :) are you using the bass muff on guitar? how is it? is the clean blend usable?

hey, cabomano, congrats on that CAE/MXR wah! is it “teh sex”?

    nice board

It’s silky smooth and well voiced. I’m not using the built-in boost all that much but the two Fasels offer some useful versatility. I consciously avoided using a wah for a long time, I used to be a wah-wah junky and wanted to steer away from that. But when I heard the CAE wah on one of the PGS demo vids a couple of months back, I got the craving again and couldn’t resist. :)

i heard that… i found out that i had used to put wah like everywhere :-D so i’m currently avoiding them too… the CAE is kinda pricey, but i bet it’s worth the money

if you like reverb, try Reverse mode with decay on full

great ambient sound, I LOVE IT :)

    Ooh, I will try that.

i’d totally want to see your face when you hear that :)

it sounds like… angels playing harps made from awesomeness… in a big cave

(play around with repeats and blend alot!)

So I gave this a try. Wonderful! Since you couldn’t see my face it looked like this:  , which is how my face often looks, with hearts flying off it. Strange condition. But anyway, after my Fuzzhugger Phantom Octave the sound was floating through my house and just destroying everything. I need to paint my walls now. Good tip.

Point is there are many new things to discover in this very cool delay.

what a great face! but srsly – you need to see a doctor about that :D

yeah, octave solos just kill… when i drive my SI fuzzface clone into Dan Armstrong Green Ringer Clone into SMMh, it sounds pretty unique…

this pedal is a must-have when it comes to digital delays

    my opinions, my suggestions:

fuzz – fuzz face or muff or sth like that

distortion – i see you have the MXR distortion III, that’s good pedal! keep it

overdrive – for example Barber DD, Keeley modded TS9…

delay (or three) – from what i’ve had and/or can recommend – EHX SMMH, Danelectro Reel Echo, Carl Martin Red Repeat, Boss DD-20, EHX DMB… for reasonably priced combo, i’d get the SMMH, Red Repeat and Reel Echo :) those are just ridonculous

reverb – EHX Holy Grail and if you want something more ambient try Boss RV-3 or RV-5 for those crazy volume swells and keyboard-like pads

tremolo: for the money, the Carl Martin Surf Trem should be really good!

phaser: Boss PH-2 for something whacky, EHX Small Stone for more mellow and classical sounding stuff

flanger: the usual suspect… The Deluxe Electric Mistress :) if you like to experiment, get the flanger hoax :D

you wanted to cover so much ground that i had to wrote a lot suggestions here… but those are the things i’d get
I tried to don’t mention boutique stuff, but that doesn’t mean there are not awesome pedals that are boutique – i just tried to advise something that wouldn’t ruin your finance :)

yeah, exactly that’s the stupid philosophy

this particular amp isn’t even made anymore, they’ve come with “mark II” and that’s currently sold somewhere around 20 000czk (750 euros approximately)

but yeah… it was a good deal :) usually they are sold for this price without those upgrades

a few years before when it was new, it cost app. 25000 czk, that’s like 1000 euros today. Now after the years it cost me 9000czk, thats not even 350 euros… with all those upgrades (the tubes, the speaker) it’s awesome

why? because even though it’s czech amp, we czechs don’t trust it and we probably don’t know how cool it is… and it’s hard to sell where noone wants to buy

(GD also manufacture some pedals and they’re not very popular)
