i think the same… plus i’d put the OD before muff – i have my od and distortion pedal before muff and when stacked, it’s really awesome but it’s your choice of course
my friend tried it when it arrived it to him (i don’t have a paypal and he purchased it on ebay for me) and was very surprised – but he is sort of crazy, when he likes the effect, it’s because it is as crazy as it can be. so he’d love to have 30% more sustain and more of this “destroyed speaker” effect… but he said that its a cross between distortion and a thick fuzz
i know about the DC jack, about the plastic jacks and so on, but how’s the bypass? is it ok? does it need to be resoldered to TB? (and would it work properly if i do it?)
I don’t think there is any difference between the nano or old version. I would suggest though to check out the Bassballs opposed to the Dr. Q, I liked it a lot more!
ok, thanks
the dr.q nano arrived today and i’m surprised – i think that it reacts better to the single pickups
i’m just a little bit struggling with the position in my effects chain… when it’s before distortion, it’s really noisy, but the sound is awesome. after distortion it seems dead quiet but the sound is not so good
and by the way, thanks to all of you good folks on this forums i didn’t know anythink about the pot inside – it really changes the sound alot!
yeah, i know that the russians are different from USA RI. if i won’t like the sovtek, i’ll try to trade it for an american one if i won’t like that either – well, they’re not for me
the capacitors info – interesting i didn’t know that – i’m really a noob at this “electricians stuff” (dunno how to say it, english is my second language)
sorry if i seemed rude to you. i didn’t mean it
i know – there is alot of big muffs and there is alot of opinions on them. since i’m not from USA, the vintage versions are hard for me to get so i probably won’t be able to explore the muff kingdom properly
so basically what you’re saying is: “this effect sucks! i have three of them!” is it just me or it doesn’t make any sense?
………’all modified heavily’ was the key phrase here, I gotta say to me they are the ‘poorly made, poor sounding, cheaper alternative’ to a ‘real’ big muff, although I guess they have their own charm, but I’ve never been impressed with any of the russian made pedals.
ok, i get it now
i picked up the latest black version, i don’t have any experience with Big Muff, so i was like “whatever”
All sovteks sound like shit IMO! (its because all the capacitor values are wrong) But those that want one can always find them on ebay, there’s tons of them there…from the red army overdrive(this ones rare though) to the tank like green one to the flimsy black one,you can always get them on ebay.
I own a tank like green one, a half tank like black one and a flimsy black one, all modified heavily.
I bought all but one 2nd hand.
so basically what you’re saying is: “this effect sucks! i have three of them!” is it just me or it doesn’t make any sense?
Nice toronado it is a very nice guitar, but unfortunately very rare here in czech republic
i own
Acoustic: early 90′ massive mahogany dreadnought by Sigma guitars (a company that makes licenced cheaper versions of Martin&Co;)
electric: later 80′ Yamaha Pacifica 302S telecaster with DiMarzio Twang king single pups. love it, compared with Fender Koa tele and Higway one, i’m glad i bought it (it was a real steal, the seller collected vintage Gibson SG’s and didn’t have a place and use for the Tele anymore…)
I prefer phasr before dirt BUT i enjoyed the time when i put phaser after fuzz (ibanez fz7 or whatever… terrible pedal but nice experience) ) very funky sounds… anyway
wah used to be first, i don’t have any at the time… then phaser, than dirt, delay, noise reduction and amp
i’m a bit struggling with my new (first) tremolo… nut sure if i like it before or after delay… it seems to be better after delay (i use milder settings on the tremolo) but who knows… i’ll definitely try it all over my pedalboard
That’s an Antech Echoluxe. It’s a full analog echo capable of around 350ms.
i’m not a fan of those low-time analogs… i’d probably need capability of 400-600ms – those are times that i usually use on the digital delay and the analog/digital is just about the different sound – for me – not about a different time or use… but anyway, your board looks amazing
heh, my Mars Pulsating star trem is probably waiting for me at the post office right now and next week, i’m gonna get me some ikea pedalboard… that mixing station case i use now is too big and ugly for having it laying next to my amp all the time… so I’ll post some new photos soon, i hope
It’s normal and you can’t do much about it, unless your in loop mode, when the Repeats knob controls the level of the layers relative to each other. Fully clockwise, all the layers will have the same volume, while fully anti-clockwise the new layer will completely erase the previous one when you lift your foot from the TAP TEMPO switch. Hope that helps.
yes it does, thanks i read the manual but I probably misunderstood that part
I’ve got a little problem with the looper function – the new layer is always a tad louder than the previous one, usually it’s very annoying. Can anyone please help me with that? what’s a best way to prevent this?
