from what i tried, well, it kinda moves the whole sound across the sound spectre – it affects how sharp the following will be and it also a liitle bit affects the sensitivity ( aacording to my ears… it’s very hard for me to say, i don’t know about the technical background, just say what i experienced)
You described the “Q” to a T.
i’m sorry? i don’t follow – english is my second language…
but i guess i just described Q in like four lines… damn…

dude… watching you two talking about cats is trippy 😆
anyway i’m like hand-injury-free… everyone around me seems to have some problems, but not me. for example my friend tore away her left little finger nail few weeks ago…
the only thing that is making me any problems is my left wrist. when it gets cold, it hurts when it’S under pressure or bent in certain angles… BUT fotunately it doesn’t hurt when rocking out :rawk:
Yeah, I must admit that the new ones sure look more modern it can attract some new users, for sure – and that’s good, nt because of the money, but because of the fact that more people can discover how cool EHX effects are
anyway… even if I’m not focused on the image… when i look to my gear, i want to look on some really nice things the functionality is on a first place but if it looks like rubbish, i don’t love it so much… i don’t say the new enclosures look like rubbish!!! but i just like the old ones more
(and by the way… the effect that are completely new, not just rehoused – Cathedral, SMMH, POG2… they are looking really great!!! )
(PS: the boss company… yeah, true visionarists… the started with the whole “normalization in pedals” a few decades ago )
so, now i have a classic enclosure and a XO pedal ,so i can compare…
the XO seems practical in the terms of size. however, as mentioned before, the jacks on the sides aren’t really helping to safe some free space…
i must say that even if my classic enclosure White finger takes up as much space as Jekyll&Hyde;+Boss PH-2 TOGETHER, it’s way more awesome. jacks on the top, nice design and god… it has pile of character!
to be honest, i don’t like how is EHX making everything smaller and modern. why? because it goes hand by hand with this stupid normalization…
if a see an old box by EHX, i KNOW that it’s made by EHX. when i see a nano boxes i’m like “wtf is that? something by MXR? something boutique? oh no, it’s that NEW EHX…”
in my opinion, the brand lost a lot of it’s signature look and character… unfortunately – it was inevitable i guess
Thanks, guys… i really appreciate that it’s not a true purpose of this thread but feel free to post your opinion
friedjesseradio: ok, so… i’m recording in Cubase. I write drums in guitar pro (yeah, flame on… but i can do whatever i want there, really) and then it’s fed to a drum machine VSTi in cubase – i was using EZDrummer but since Consciousness i’ve been using Baterry 3 with carefully picked drum samples.
The early guitar stuff was recorded through Tech21 Sansamp GT-2 into line in… then i sold it and i started to use impulses. Almost every effects (besides some reverbs and ring mod in Bonnie… oh yeah and the synth-like sound in Life as we know it) is made by me and my pedalboard (i think)
the bass used to be programmed but with Opus dei, i started to record it on my own… the same thing is with the keyboards
about the Pink Floyd influence… people more often say that it reminds them of Porcupine tree (well… they are my main inspiration) but that’s nice! thanks
that’s my way to express myself and be creative, but without actual playing live or at reherseals, it’s not as it could be
yeah, the new gear helps… but not with that… that’s just an urge to express myself… let’s hope that when i et to university and to the ther town, things’ll get better
