I think the soul preacher is warmer with a slight grit and more organic sounding than the CS-3 which is very clean and sterile in comparison. [not a bad thing, just a different use].
I’m considering getting a soul preacher to use as a sort of fat boost into my JC-120.
This was even easier than the small stone!
There is a 10k resistor by the 4558 ic.Its responsible for the overall volume at the output. By lowering it to 2k2 its just slightly lowder than unity gain when on, exactly what I wanted.
Hope this helps somebody out there!
Did you say you cant use the adapter because it has a us plug? I bet thats your answer.Go to your electronics store and buy the exact adapter but for EU use.Make sure the tip / ring are right and you have more than enough millivolts.
You know, the golf ball idea is looking pretty good, having already busted the shaft of the feedback pot once [by gradually prying it off with a flat head] ,and considering the shipping from Europe for repair.I’ve removed hundreds of knobs in my lifetime, but never have I encountered something like this pressed on EH knob.
I’m scared to death to try it again.Maybe I will work up the courage again, but not now cause I need my DXMB!
I pity the repair man that has to remove six of these at a time.
they slip on like normal knobs, but they are a very very tight fit, that they are attached using a press to get them on, so unfortunately they will be extremely hard to remove!
why not try sum type of slip over rubber cover, on the knob? like MXR does, or make sum thing, like maybe out of a small rubber ball? or wrap the knob in electrical tape or sum thing to make it bigger and more grip.
Yeah, that crossed my mind, but an mxr knob/rubber boot is just too low to turn with your foot without touching the adjacent knobs. The rubber ball idea is intriging, but I cant quit picture that.Maybe a golf ball drilled out to fit snugly over the knob would work?
Do you know if they are regular splined shafts like a boss potentiometer or something else?
Ok,this is not a joke! Within 15 minutes of getting my DXMB I broke the feedback pot trying to get the knob off.Fortunately Electro Harmonix fixed my unit even though it was my fault.
Now that I have it back, I still want to control the feedback with a big rubber knob, but I’m sure as hell not going to try and pry the knob off again unless a moderator chimes in with either a tip in removing it or a warning that they are epoxied on or something!
Seriously, they do not budge.
Weird, I tried the 12v output from my BBE Supacharger AND a boss ACA 12v adapter.NO DELAY SIGNAL PRESENT.Works fine at 9v,but at 12v it powers up and flashes in tempo, but there is no delayed signal. And I tried 2 power supplies. So this leads me to beleive that
A] Its a bad idea
B] Its only my particular unit that hates 12v
Can others please try this and post thier results?
By the way, this pedal is amazing! It booted my analogman high cut/expression pedal Boss DD-5 off my board, and thats saying something. Thanx EH !
