depends on which EHX pedals, but powerwise, the Visual Sound One Spot [worldwide] or Godlyke [UK] power supplies will provide enough juice [amperage] to power most things. The OneSpot even has a ‘deluxe pack’ that includes a daisy chaining power cable and adaptors for old pedals.
Some EHX pedals take odd specifications for power [the old frequency analyzer, for instance, takes 40v], but provided it isn’t the NanoClone, NanoMuff, or old-style Holy Grail, and it says 9v negative tip at the power jack, you’re golden. [Neo Clone is fine, Double Muff is fine, Nano Holy Grail is fine]
CryabetesParticipantdoes it work outside of the preset functionality? like in the ‘manual’/’what you see is what you get’ mode?
CryabetesParticipantHow about a digital delay? The Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai is wonderful. Otherwise maybe some kind of filter like the Riddle?
CryabetesParticipantis that a tablecloth or a bedspread? either way, it’s awesome and you should replace the tolex on your amplifier with it.
also i’m not much of a mod man but the solder on the red/black wires on pictures 2 & 3 – is that touching? should it be?
CryabetesParticipantI’m sure there’s a way in the actual midi parameters, but you could also do it with how you have it set up: a midisolutions thru box like this: http://www.midisolutions.com/prodthr.htm
I use the 4-out version of it and it works wonderfully. keeps my 2880 synced to my electribes and slicer pedal.July 20, 2011 at 1:00 pm in reply to: what device to use to feed the next pedals all at the same time? #110817CryabetesParticipantyou mean signal wise or power wise?
CryabetesParticipanti’d think you’d want to move the HG a little further down the line- probably after the delay/POG2 and slicer, unless you’re using the Slicer as a percussive looper. whether or not it’s before the freeze is going to be a matter of taste.
also have you considered switching to an active volume pedal? maybe a morley or a DOD FX17 if size is the issue? putting the volume pedal before the delay/reverb situation can make a volume swell really bloom wonderfully.
CryabetesParticipanthey
fellow guitar-pedals-on-a-synth guy here
do you use a laptop based synth [or one that can output control voltages?]
You can ‘fix’ the LFO on the stereo polyphase by using it on the exp pedal mode and run a sine wave you drew in audacity or whatever into it [or the LFO out from your minimoog/voyager/little phatty or whatever].That said, the small stone is nice/simple and a better four-stage phaser than the MXR phase 90. $100 would be a bit much for an unmodified one but it sounds about right for an analogman one. and there’ll be a bit of a difference seeing as the xo polyphase is a digital pedal with a rather lot of tweakability and the small stone is analog and pretty simple but I doubt either is sonically unpleasant- just different flavors.
regards,
SamCryabetesParticipanttry moving the micropog to its own power supply and see if it clears up. maybe mount a power strip on your pedal board if you want to keep everything on one supply.
CryabetesParticipantperhaps a preset up/down switch like on the digitech jam man?
CryabetesParticipantyou know you can replace it, right? you just have to move a circuit board. it’s not rocket science.
CryabetesParticipantor a three-band fully parametric EQ. use the knobset system from the Talking Machine, and each band having bandwidth, frequency and boost/cut controls. probably have enough space over for an overall level control too.
CryabetesParticipantman someone’s a delay fan!
what’re the three unlabeled boxes at the top? the triple stomp/double stomp/ and single stomp with a paint job that reminds me of baseball for some reason?CryabetesParticipantif we mailed them pedals that had the proper chips in them, do you think they’d frankenstein up a DMMwTT for us?
CryabetesParticipantit can’t go directly into a cab, but it can go to a PA or basically anything that can drive a cab. Or you can pick up a 22 caliber or 44 magnum, which is just a really tiny amp head.
how is that Biyang Reverb? I’ve had mixed success with their stuff – love their distortion/fuzz and tremolo stuff, but their delays are terrible.
