CryabetesParticipantQuote:Hey
Appreaciate your time man, just one last question regarding the loop lenght, as i am understand you need to give the outpoint manually? so if i would be using the 2880 as a slave with an MPC will the 2880 correct the lenght of the loop according to the timing it’s recieving from the MPC?
yeah this is the quantize function
Quote:example on the Kaossilator pro i can choose for instance 16 beats and then hit record whenever i like, how is this possibile on the 2880???this …. there’s less maths input into the 2880 and more “this machine will copy what you tell it, so speak carefully”
CryabetesParticipantQuote:thanks a lot mate! sounds goos!so if u want to record on the fly you have just to press record before the end of a 16th beat and the 2880 will start the 1 beat of the next sequence? right?
no, best bet for this would be start with the faders down, record lit but not running, ext clock and quantize on – then when you start your beat, the 2880 will start recording nothing – determine how long you want your loop to be (read: wait), then press “play” so it keeps going (and keeps playing nothing). You can then move the faders up and punch in and out with the ‘record’ button.
Quote:and how to set lenght of the record? you have to just press stop before the end of a 16th beat and the 2880 will swith to play at the next beat?
sorry for stupid question
bestgotta do this manually, as described above.
CryabetesParticipantwelcome.
CryabetesParticipantit’s tight if you are. I mean, the quantizing works wonders with my electribes, just press the button before the 16 beats of a measure are up, otherwise it’ll add 16 more before going back to the loop start point.
as far as erasure on the fly, it works; just go to the track you want to erase/record over, move the slider to 0 and have record going.

And that whole ‘EQs go after distortions!’ mindset is bunk. your ears are your number one tool.
CryabetesParticipantuse a couple jumper cables and find out. probably wouldn’t be the end of the world, you, or your equipment. might invert the phase or give you a jolt but it shouldn’t be a big deal.
CryabetesParticipantyeah distortions are not exactly power hogs either so a battery should last a good long while in it. just remember to unplug the input cable so it’s not on all the time.
CryabetesParticipantdo you have, say, another 9vDC adapter you could try with it?
or maybe use a battery clip to 2.1mm (9v battery to boss sized power supply) clip and try it alone?wait does it have a battery in it?
CryabetesParticipantQuote:yes I keep my velcro on the board im constantly chaning my board, like since i took that pic last week ive added a diamond j drive mk3, boss 59 bassman pedal and a clone theorydo you lose bass when you use your bassman pedal? I always had either noise floor issues or it cut out a ton of bass when I used mine. Wondering if I had a bum one or if it’s the nature of the beast.
CryabetesParticipantyou ever use a tascam multitracker? that’s the closest I can relate it to – like, you can switch the volume of each loop on the fly or fade in/out individual parts of the loops, but you can’t set the start points at “when loop 1 finishes, go to loop 2, and then trigger loop 3 to start on beat 3 of loop 2”; they’re all synchronized together as one loop but four channels of audio, pannable to two outputs. They’re all the same length, etc.
CryabetesParticipantyou okay man?
CryabetesParticipant1- overloadable with a buffered guitar signal, need a mixer or other level box beforehand to avoid clipping (boss LS-2? EHX LPB1?)
2- Works best out of a mixer, so line level.
3- 500K ohms.
4- line level.
5- 10k ohms? iunno but the input/output impedances are in the manual. Same as most pedals output impedances. The tracks all play simultaneously, you can’t step through them one by one. They’re all synced to either an internal clock or a midi clock, and are all the same length.
CryabetesParticipantyeah either the midisolutions route or programming an arduino to work with your perc pad are the only ways I can think of to do this.
CryabetesParticipantPossible, maybe. “How” would really be the question. Drum pads, when hit, send a NOTE-ON message, however, the 2880 responds to CC messages. You’d need something to translate the note on messages to CC values and I’m not sure if there’s a product that does that. I’m sure if you brought a computer onstage there’d probably be a way to do it but why go hardware looper at all if you’re going to do that, yeah?
Otherwise, maybe the people at midisolutions could recommend a converter box?
CryabetesParticipantdo you really keep the velcro on your board?
