my current rig….next purchase will be a SMMH and perhaps a Cathedral.
companymanParticipantQuote:has anybody had any experience with “Cryo Valves” (http://www.watfordvalves.com/special.asp):“biggest area of interest to guitarists will be in the dramatic effect Cryo has on the way the tube or valve provides such a clear and unmuddled distortion.”
this seems like marketing hype to me
companymanParticipantQuote:I don’t think that Harmony-Central is coming back. Good riddance, I say. I need to destroy my computer so I can live.really….where will I get my Robo and Bobby D fix?
companymanParticipantPOG and HOG are digital and polyphonic (can track chords) and the Microsynth is analog and is monophonic (can only track single notes). There are many other differences, but this is the big difference.
companymanParticipantQuote:sometimes i’d love to sign up for some other forum than this one – i sometimes miss talking about every brand i want…but then i realize that i don’t need a pile of snobs talking about how the most expensive things are the best ones… i’m not against boutique stuff, i’m just against some of its users
one of the best equipped and most helpful guys here plays a squier jagmaster… who needs those hand made guitars… and who needs to talk about Dumbles… we are cool
I think you might be describing The Gear Page….HCFX are a bunch of clowns…who happen to know a bunch of stuff about gear! It really is a FUN place! But for the serious EHX junkie, like me, this is the place!
companymanParticipantthis forum feels more like home….HCFX drives me to random Rick Rolling because of some of the off topic stuff….just lost my mind and got banned…and the crash happened…weird timing!
companymanParticipantQuote:Quote:it has been -18 in Colorado last week and my Memory Boy’s delay time was significantly diminished, it normally has a warm up period, this warm up time took a lot longer but eventually it returned to normal delay time.well this would be an entirely different and new problem then. Mine varies by the hour, not with temperature changes.
I’m not sure if this is confirmed, but if that is you Robo, didn’t you have an incident with daisy chaining the Memory Boy?
companymanParticipantQuote:Quote:Quote:I live in Florida, and I’ve found my Memory Boy to be sensitive to temperature changes. The max delay time is longer when the temperature in my house is above about 70 degrees F.
The max delay time decreases when it falls below 60 degrees F.
This is really bizarre, but no more bizarre to me than how temperature affects Germanium transistors. I’m not too concerned about it. It beats having to change the tape loop.
it’s not temperature changes, more likely fluctuations in your power grid.
I’m not entirely convinced. The occurence has a happened a few times now, which seems too often to be a coincidence.

companymanParticipantRobo is now squigglefunk….
November 12, 2009 at 2:37 am in reply to: Memory Boy : Modulation toggle switch not working properly #103679companymanParticipantmy Memory Boy has 3 modulation rates without an expression pedal plugged in….
companymanParticipantI use a Boss LS-2 with the Hoax (it has a built in boost for the loop) to correct volume drop, it works great!
companymanParticipantQuote:This is where all the settings are. It helps a lot at knowing the pedal.http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=1044889
Here’s the setting I’m using now and it’s amazing with a Muff!
******************************************
Chorus-like pseudo-Electric Mistress Flanger
blend – 10:00-2:00 2:00
feedback -10:00-12:00 12:00
feedback switch – swept
LIN
mod mode -180 degrees
amount – 10:00
rate – 9:00-10:00 10:00
delay mode -1
invert switch – off
fixed switch – bypassso glad someone is enjoying my favorite setting on the Flanger Hoax! I have some other ones I will be posting on the Flanger Hoax lounge soon…that blend knob is a very useful feature, you can have an insane modulation going on past 12:00 and back the blend knob off to say 10:00 and the sound is very subtle and “useful” in a more traditional application. PureTube, the designer of the Hoax, and many other pedals is a master of pedal magic!
Also, be sure to check out Fender&EHX4ever;’s settings in the lounge as well, he is a maestro of EHX insanity!
fixed delay – 3:00
swept switch- swept
swept delay -3:30
******************************************I’ve took it from someone on the thread link above.
The value in bold are the one I use.I also found this in there, it’s very useful to note down your settings.

companymanParticipantI thought that the Flanger Hoax had some similarity to the Bi-Phase, I could be wrong.
companymanParticipantXO Polychorus with a blend knob.
companymanParticipantummm…my head hurts!
