Yah, but it would be hideous!

lolnah, I think it’s just the exposure that makes it hard to see
I don’t think they’re real guitars.
ChumleyParticipantThe only ring mod I canfind is the $400 Moog one. And there’s no way I’m going to blow money on that. As for flangers, chorus, etc, I’m going to go with some cheap Danos. (Don’t kill me!)
A bit of an update: Instead of a Hazarai, I’m going with a #1. Does what I need for a much better price. The Worm will have to wait a bit as well, but the other two are definately both remaining on my list. Thanks!ChumleyParticipantI suppose I do use a Fender, don’t I.
A rhodes.ChumleyParticipantQuote:I’d be first in line for a real tape echo! I don’t even care if it has tubes.A good, inexpensive reverse delay would be cool too. I know about the Hazarai Memory Man.. I mean something like the #1 Echo, but backwards.
… let the tube echo run backwards.
Sorry… getting excited.
I’m afraid that’s a little to specific for a single pedal, but I hope I’m wrong. It would be quite awesome.
ChumleyParticipantMaybe a compromise between building the pedal completely and buying a pre-made one: modular pedals. You get the chassis, which can hold several ‘modules’, which you receive mostly complete, but still requiring a bit of assembly. That way, you can build a custom pedal with a minimum of confusion, but still making it extremely easy to mod.
ChumleyParticipantNo offense, but I think there are WAY easier ways of getting ungodly noises. It’s a cool idea, however.
ChumleyParticipantQuote:what about a ball like on those old arcade machines? ….you know, like an upside down mouse?that would be easy to move with your foot.
I think something that might work better is an expression pedal that, in addition to sensing front to back, also senses left to right.
Addressing the original post, what kind of effects would you see it applying to? I can best see it controlling a filter: X=cutoff, Y=resonance.

-Ring Mod/Overdrive. As a Rhodes player, I would be all over that.
-Delay/Reverb. Preferably digital, with a 5 seconds+ delay time and as many knobs as possible. Like a slightly expanded #1, or a Hazarai without the looping.
Between those two, and a Worm, I would be pretty much set. Also, EHX’s take on a chopper, like the Boss SL-20.
