how is the reverse reverb for MBV tones? is it similar to the early reflections yamaha spx90 sound?

I just played a bit with it and never used any reverse fx before but it has lots of parameters you can play with. for a 1st approach, all the reverb on this are top notch!

I’ve gone on the extreme side, blend all the way up and your note arrives in a reverb wash like 1/2 sec after…crazy.

I’ll need to experiment more with it, for now I just needed the Hall reverb for my drone gig…

    more clips to come ASAP

Chev just listened to your drone clips. Very reminiscent of early science fiction movies such as Andromeda Strain. What is the instrument in two clip that is making that almost horn like drone? Is that the hoax?

yes, all the horn-like part, the guitar was muted, it’s all comming from the Hoax…! love that pedal!

and now with Stereo Cathedral Reverb…I’ll post some new clips with it.

I have to look for that movie, I’m planning on doing some kind of experimental soundtracks over my friend experimental video and stereo voice noise…really ambiant.

We just did our 1st gig yesterday, really good for Halloween…hehe!

    here’s a youtube of it:

haha you’re pretty much all over the net with those clips. I ear you, let’s spread the love for Hoax. lol.

I should do the same with a Jamman loopstation it’s so much easier to show what this thing can do.

    nice job!

And I think you would be interested by that thread:

here’s my updated board…the pp2+ gives much more space, getting ready for one or 2 extra pedals…!

    pedalboardoct2009_640.jpg

there will be a POG2 and a Stereo Cathedral Reverb…also want a Hazarai to compare with the Deluxe…would love some preset for different delay…after that the PP2+ will be fully loaded and the pedalbag too.

    Yeah, sometimes I which I didn’t sold it…

I would have build a second pedal board strictly for drone doom experiment…but I have to keep focus on my band needs for now.

My base tone is a double BigMuff setup…grr

Didn’t try the old DMM to compare but the XO version sounds amazing to me.
My pedal board wouldn’t have the space for the oversized DMM anyway…

I just got my XO DMM yesterday! hurray!

My Boss DD-3 got replace with a super lush and warmer sound.

It looks like it was made to be mate with my Flanger Hoax…all analog baby!

And you got to watch for the overdrive…this thing has 24V! so it can give you plenty of juice.

I love the XO series, fits nicely in my EHX pedal bag…

Wow that’s a lot of info.

    Thanks!

I had the 2000 re-issue Big Muff and I liked the low-end of it but it didn’t cut trough the mix.

Now with the Tone Wicker version, it’s perfect.

If I ever get a graphic fuzz, I would turn off the tone on the wicker and eq my tone to perfection.

But for now I keep the tone on and set it pretty much like before but with the Wicker on, it gives the little edge that the older big muff lack.

It’s a bit more in the mid-high but I use the Bass Big Muff for the low-end part…they complete each other really good.

here’s my last experiment with the hoax…and muff’s…

I always thought “I am the only person that makes noise out off a russian Big Muff, a ceb-3 and a dod fx-72, and calls it ‘music'” haha. Nice clip man, right into my mp3 player : D

Ps: I want a Flanger Hoax, but I don’t have enough money. Also I want tons of ehx pedals ‘n’ stuff, but again I can’t afford them :(.

I’m glad you like my clip.

There’s actually a part 2 of that session that is even better IMO but it’s 26min so I couldn’t upload it without ruining the audio quality with extreme compression…i’ll see if there’s a way to upload it somewhere else than soundclip…

You could still get a Small Clone or Stone for cheaper and have some space fx too…

I’ve been trying many other settings…I now use the Chorus setting wich blend nicely with my guitar amps…you should ear the Delay bouncing from my right amp/cabinet…kind of stereo delay with some hoax…! As soon as I start playing my gig I just close my eyes and leave for another dimension…I can’t wait to replace my Boss DD-3 for a XO Deluxe Memory Man!!!
