I keep replying to myself…this is odd,
Anyway – SUCCESS! I was able to figure out what switch to use, and found it on DIGIKEY, part number EG2456-ND (MADE BY E-SWITCH, P/N 200MDP1T1B1M2QEH).
It is easier to desolder the old switch if you take it apart carefully. The toggle part can be pried off, then cut the red plastic body with a small wire cutter to reveal the leads. Then use solder-wick to remove them and clean out the pcb holes. Insert the new switch and solder it up.
When re-installing the PCB in the box, do not leave any nuts on the switches threaded collar.
hmmm, I guess EH tech support doesn’t really read these. OK, my unit is broken – poor design if you ask me. using a thin handled toggle switch was a bad idea guys; a low-profile slide switch would have been much better.
So, how do I get this fixed? I’m a degreed EE with 28yrs experience – much of it in amp design — so if you can give me a part number, I can replace the switch myself.
