sorry to confuse you, my suggestion was perfectly simple, –> use mixer inserts is all!
(besides, you wll not find a vocoder with true instrument bypass anywhere, that is just not the way it works)besides, i find the box extremely useful, and the harmony-vocals work beautifully! maybe
you should experiment more with wet/dry amounts,– what is more useful than
multiharmonic vocalsmartin
canutilityParticipantyes, something like that, but i think it won´t work with that normal “aux send/return” – path on the master section of the mixer. –
supposed you have a channel insert input: connect the guitar-channel insert with the instrument input of the VB,
and the microphone normally (since the mic-path HAS true bypass) —>the result will be: an unaffected guitar channel and a wet signal on the microphone channel,–
i can only describe it that generally, since i am just about to buy a mixer with inserts ( right because of that little beast), i don´t have one yet.
BUT THIS SURELY WORKS, THAT IS EXACTELY WHAT INSERTS ARE FOR!! It is like a sideway on a road,– 4 details about connecting —> mixer-manualwhat bothers me is that my box is obviously wrecked. ARE YOU COMPLETELY SURE YOU HEAR NO SIGNAL,
or did you maybe just don´t notice it (it took me a while to realize!)m
canutilityParticipanthi!
the manual says “clean and transparent analog instrument through circuity” –
so it is surely not true bypass on the instrument path, but remember that this is
an effectbox focusing on the wet/XLR signal, and you still can USE IT VIA INSERT ON
A MIXER TO AVOID LOSS OF AUDIO QUALITY!! ( i hope you got a mixer with channel inserts! )OR DO YOU HAVE A 2 CHANNEL INPUT ON YOUR AMP/PREAMP/POD etc., TO KEEP AT LEAST ONE CHANNEL “CLEAN”?!
(but in vocoder mode, for example, I don´t even
plug the output, since i dont need the dry signal!)I am worried about another aspect –
have you noticed that, in vocoder mode, there is always a certain amount of instrument
signal, silent but audible, there as you play it, even when you do not “vocode”?
normally in a vocoder, the signals are fully seperate,- no instrument to hear as long as you don´t
sing into the mic!could i ask you to do me the favour to check if your box does it too, so that I can be sure wheter mine is defect or not? I got no answers on this forum yet about this matter!
thanks,
martin
