“In Bypass mode, the mono/left input jack is connected directly to the mono/left output jack, the Right input jacks is connected directly to the right output jack. If no plug is inseted into the right input jack the the mono/left input jack will also connect to the right output jack.”
as far as I know it doesn’t……unless my interpretation of the manual is wrong, it doesn’t trail when you kick it off does it?
Nevertheless, nowhere does it say explicitly that the pedal is true bypass. Why would EHX be so cagey about it, especially when they’re so happy to state it with regard to other pedals?
Including my tuner, my signal goes through 8 devices (including Boss pedals) before it hits the amp. Only 2 of these (the very first and last pedals in the chain) are true bypass, still it all sounds fine. I guess you gotta have lots more effects for true bypass to make an audible difference.
Only the Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai so far. I’m thinking about getting a Doctor Q or a Tube Zipper. A Muff may eventually end up on my pedalboard, too.
Another PS-3 and a T-Rex Fuel Tank are coming, and I need a bigger board to put a couple of other pedals on too (PS-2, Fuzz Factory and MXR Equalizer) + the footswitch of my Laney VC100, but this is what I’ve been rockin’ lately.
The SMMH is definitely the most fun pedal I have. There’s just so many wacky things you can do with it. I just finished a series of posts about all the pedals I currently use, including the Haz, on my blog if anyone’s interested.
Wow, everyone’s EHX collections make mine seem so small. I only have 3 EHX pedals so its kinda hard to pick a favorite. But my pedalboard will eventually fill up with more EHX pedals. I’ll probably get the LPB-1 soon though.
I only have one right now. Should have more though…
Still doesn’t tell me if there’s a volume drop in the effects loop… anyone?
I own a Hot Rod Deluxe and have tried the SMMH in the effects loop. The volume drop isn’t any different from when I have it in front of the amp. It just depends on where you have the blend set and shouldn’t really bother you unless you’re pretty fussy about this sort of thing. In fact, I decided to run the pedal up front, since there was too little difference in overall tone and feel to justify a separate set of cables. That being said I mostly use it for subtle delay/flanging effects [unless I’m fooling around with it at home ].
