Just a follow up. I always like to let everyone on the forums know the final outcome of any issue.

EHX support answered my email, and agreed it is the cable sleeve length causing the issue. They are sending me metal washers to replace the existing plastic ones on the input and output jacks to solve the issue. This should let the POG2 work with all cables.

[strong]Now that is customer service! [/strong]

Found the issue, and you are going to love this one….. [strong]IT WAS[/strong] a cable…HOWEVER…its a specific brand of cable..Planet Waves 3 foot cables. All my other devices and pedals work with these cables, except the POG2…..Now figure that one out!!!! It seems to be making a partial connection…. what the heck???? Do you know how frustrating this was???

So, if all my other pedals including other EHX pedals work with these cables, …. Do I have a defective POG2, more specifically, are the input or output jacks bad????

In comparing the jacks of the Planet Waves cables to the other ones, I can see no difference in total length, however on the sleeve length for the Planet Waves I am getting 20.5mm while the cables that work the sleeve is exactly 21mm. Could that be it???

Anyway, this pedal was the only one the store had and it was the Demo unit. Could be the jacks were plugged in so long that they are slightly deformed from standard. I don’t know.

Having fun in electronics and electron flow……….NOT!

Here it is: Hold down the White Knob and the PreSet FootSwitch simultaneously, then power up the Ring Thing. Continue holding both buttons until you see the Yellow LED preset ladder blink rapidly. This will return the presets to the original factory setting.

I tried to make the template blank. Not so high resolution since I had to do a screen shot. But for getting something on paper it should work.

ANY CHANCE someone could make a new tab at the top of the EHX homepage that says SUPPORT!!!!!!

AND put that little tid-bit of info (the link posted above) in there. WOW, a major manufacturer of pedals and no Support page. A little weird!!!!!!!!! I mean that info is buried so deep, this is the day of INTERNET support and communication. DUH

They have got to get on the ball. That is why they are losing the battle to other companies.

I really do love what the Ring Thing does, but if it ever breaks……I know not to come here, just call the old fashion way, send it in, and they fix it. Yes I can live with it, but it really makes me now wonder how innovative the R&D really is.

No Pog for me, its the HarmonyMan.

Last Post for me here in this forum. This particular forum topic “Help/Technical Questions” serves no purpose, they basically rely on volunteer help and offer no over-sight for advice given. Not a good way to run a Company sponsored forum.

Wow, cannot believe that a forum hosted by the manufacturer would let a problem go this long with out a response. No more EH products for me. Sorry very disappointed.

I also hope they take this forum to heart. I mean, why offer a forum at all with a HELP/TECHNICAL QUESTIONS area if they are not going to read it themselves.

If you really want to see a great forum and see how problems are handled, go to the Seymour Duncan forums. Support and Techs from Seymour Duncan actively monitor the site, and some like Frank Falbo go beyond and monitor other forums not even supported by Seymour Duncan. Thats why I have total confidence in their products and know it is backed up by a fantastic support staff. EHX needs to follow that formula.

No need to diganose, send it back. It is defective.

Do not look to these boards for help from electro Harmoniz personel. They do not seem to read their own Forum

I for one am very concerned by this. I think they are reverting back to the 70’s when quality control and customer support took a back seat to product production and profits.

I was going to get a POG2 but believe I will go with the Digitech HarmonyMan. I own the Ring Thing and love it, but I value customer support more than product.

I am new on this forum. Recently purchased the Ring Thing (fantastic pedal by the way)

Just a little disappointed that this issue has not been addressed by anyone at Electro Harmonix in the time span that this has existed.

For any of the regular long time members…..is this the norm??

I have a few other pedals from companies such as Seymour Duncan and Digitech. Both have been very responsive to customer problems, on the forums and in direct contact. At Seymour Duncan they actively scan the forums for issues like this to resolve them immediately before it gets viral on the internet.

Has anyone received any response from the help desk or tech department on this preset issue with the POG2? This was going to be my next purchase.

Wanted to bump this back up. I am also interested if you can restore the factory presets. I like some of them myself and when I start to experiment with this pedal, I would like to get back to day 1 if I have to.

Even if its manually re-entering them, Thats OK, just show me the charts/settings/notes!!!!

Thanks, for the response and I also verified it myself by using the good old internet google engine. Music theory is not my strong point but I am learning.

What an amazing pedal. When I learn how to use this ring thing to its full potential (and that may be never since it is already educating me) …. WOW. Looks like I am in for a learning curve. Wish me luck.

I don’t think I deserve this pedal!!! I will try not to let it down. :)
