Well I just pulled the trigger on a Flanger Hoax for $125 on evilbay ! GREAT DEAL ! I have been hearing rumors that these are slated for discontinuation in the near future so get one of these “FREAK-OUT” machines while you can ! The price will sky rocket once this happens ! I see many hours of tweeking fun in my future !

The flanger hoax is amazing. its definitely my favorite pedal. I could sit there for hours playing it.

Yeah man I have been deeply engrossed with the Flanger Hoax ! I am currently working on some more subtle “usable” settings for performance with my band “EARMARK SAINTS” and have come up with two . One I call the “Leslie Follower” because it does the rotating , chorusy thing with a pitch bendy following tone , truly unique , I’ve never heard the sound before ! It has inspired a new song that I am currently working on ! I have also found something approaching the Gilmour “Animals” era Electric Mistress sound , which is easing my GAS for one of those over-priced beasts ! :thumb:

I have no idea what to name the settings i come up with.

    I just number them.:D

I’ve noticed, when using the LPB-1 with my Fende Pro Jr. that, if I play at a considerable amp level (let’s 5-6), I get an ‘anti-boost’ (i.e. lower volume) when I turn the LPB-1 below 10 o’clock. With the amp below 5-6, I get a great boost, with no extra overdrive, when I put the LPB-1 at 12 o’clock.

I’ve noticed that too with mine below about 8 o’clock.

While everyone is talking about fuzz, what does everyone think of the Z.VEX Fuzz Probe? I’ve seen a lot demos of this on youtube and it seems pretty cool. It’s sort of expensive but i’d get it.:)

Yea, i probably won’t buy any more boss pedals. Except maybe their chromatic tuner pedal. Or the DS-2 because Frusciante uses it.

Even Boss’ pedals tuner has been bested by korg, because the pitchblack has true bybass, unlike the boss. The DS-2 seems pretty cool, by I just use my amp for distortion or overdrive. The only gain based pedals that I buy are Fuzz, that’s where the Big Muff come in. Have you seen Boss’ fuzz? That thing looks like a joke!

I’ve seen the boss fuzz pedal. I never tried it out though because the big muff pi is just going to be better so i never bothered.

I’m sort of disappointed that Chris Cheney of The Living End doesn’t use any EHX pedals. He uses some boss.

Anyone else here heard of The Living End?

sure…Aussie punk band with a guy that plays a double bass yeah?

a mate of mine used to love them, I think they are pretty cool…they remind me of the ‘suicide machines’ a little.

Im glad to see somebody knows them.

Nobody i talk to knows who they are. and im like “listen to these guys, they’re amazing”.

Of course, no one i know listens to the same music as me. :(

As promised to Bluesteel, here’s what the pedal sounds like, sorry about the waffling on and sniffs and coughs (I have a cold!) I just did the pedal on it’s own (clean) but if you want to hear it with dirt, let me know and I’ll do that too.

it’s not exactly a Jack Conte pro-style demo, but hopefully you’ll get an idea of what it sounds like!!

    Thanks for the demo.:)
After hearing that, i should buy one. It sounds amazing.

There should be an effects only store. That would be cool.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. proguitarshop.com’s main focus is effects, so if they opened some stores then I could see it happening.

I think I sould open my own store.

I’ve seen others use altoids tins for picks. So I had a spare altoids tin and I said “what the hell, I’ve got space.”

Altoids are amazing! I’m addicted to them.

I was at guitar center yesterday and they didnt have any.

Guitar Center will never have the thing you’re looking for in stock, it’s probably intentional too. If you want a quality phaser get a Small Stone.

I hate how they never have anything in stock.
