Hi all.
I bought an EH-0400 an I’m very enthusiastic about this synth, I love it.
It works fine, but it have some triggering problems and it need some little repair.
Someone that have it can kindly post the instruction manual?
Please please please! I will be very grateful.
There are links to the manual in the very first post of this thread
I checked with Synhouse, the company that makes the Midijack module, again and they told me that they did retrofit 3 or 4 Mini Synths, but it requires adding a VCO to the circuit, and even after that, it’s not real stable. They seemed to enjoy bashing the Mini Synth in the response as well 🙄
I still think it’s a cool piece of history, and makes some phat sounds as well. :thumb:
I’m still on the quest to put a guitar input on mine though.
Thanks Ron. Do you know anything about the midi circuit? I’ve searched the net for info, and this is the only thing I’ve found: http://www.synhouse.com/midijack.html I’ve emailed them, and they say it will not work the the EH Mini Synth. I should have saved the email, but I think it had something to do with the way it’s triggered with the resistor network on the keyboard.
How could I add a guitar input? I’ve got a schematic for my EH 0400. Could I copy the circuit that’s in your model and make it work, you think?
What a great setup! That’s a great idea about the rack panels for the bottom. I’ll probably do the same. Did you use angle brackets bolted to the rack panel?
Thanks for that link Scott. I didn’t see that before. That was interesting!
By the way, do you know where I could get some extra plastic tips for the controls? I’m missing a couple. Also, has anyone modified their Mini Synth? It would be cool add a guitar input like the other model. I’ve also heard you can hook it up to a regular keyboard.
It Lives! Special thanks to EH Man for verifying the battery/adapter wiring. This thing is just as fun as I remembered it. Very fat! Thanks again to danieldanger for posting the pics of your Mini Synth. Now I need to build something for the bottom. The old cardboard like base disinegrated long ago!
Hello everyone. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this forum! I’ve had my Mini Synth since about 1986. For some unknown reason, a few years later I robbed it of some parts (9 volt clips, wiring for the keyboard….I was only 19 ) With the help of the pics in this thread, I was able to figure out the missing pieces of my puzzle. Thanks to the original poster!
I’m still stuck on the power supply. I highlighted the areas in the pic. The blue arrows are where I think the wire goes.**edit* The blue arrow on the pcboard is hard to see, it’s about 2 inches from the left and about 1 inch down** The red lines are where I think the 9 volt battery positve goes, and the black lines are where I think the 9 volt battery negative goes. Can anyone verify this? Many thanks in advance.
