Hi Brad,
Yes thats the guitar!Quote:Bill,What’s your nylon guit? Looks like a Tak EC132SC?
Brad
bill ruppertParticipantHey Eddie
Yes with the V256 you need adaptors to plug your guitar in and out.
They can be found here:XLR male to 6.3mm 1/4″ Female Mono mic Stereo Adapter
XLR Female to 6.3mm 1/4″ Female Mono mic Stereo Adapter
There is a big list of them here:

Awesome as usual. You inspire me
The poratamento effect is what I have been missing with my microsynth and my moogerfoogers.
I just picked up the v256 and all I can find are TRS 1/4 to XLR adapters can they be used? and do I need them for both the in and outs.
I just wanted to ask before I ordered the adapters
Thanks!bill ruppertParticipantTo add sustain to the MicroSynth add a compressor pedal like the Soul Preacher.
It adds tons of sustain and evens out your picking to give it a more even keyboard attack.
Almost all the Effectology videos featuring a MicroSynth use a compressor in front of it.August 20, 2010 at 12:34 am in reply to: EHX Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.17 Transforming Guitar to Bass #110976bill ruppertParticipantDolding down the tune button the entire time would not work.
In this mode the tune switch is disabled.
This mode has with 3 leds on.Quote:Quote:The intelligent ring mod effect is very different than the tune button.
The sound is very different.
Tune button tunes the global pitch to a single note.
Notes other than the tuned note will be a sum and difference of that note.
The intelligent ring mod is like hitting the tune button on every note.
Intelligent ring mod is a mono effect. It can listen to only one note at a time to tune itself.
The effect is very FM synth like.Using the intelligent mod you have only one out as the other output is feed back into the mod jack.
Using the Ring Thing in its normal fashion it is stereo with one sideband on each side.Quote:The intelligent ring mod:
Can’t you just hold down the tune button to achieve the same effect?
How does stereo work on the Ring Thing? If it’s just dry right, wet left then that’s fine but if it splits the signal into different sidebands won’t you lose the part of the signal that goes back into the mod input?I meant holding down the tune button the entire time that you are playing. Theoretically you should get the same effect, no? I guess you could use a splitter to get the right signal to the mod input and the amp.

Its like a big bowl of melted chocolate!
The slight mod on the delay really made it stand apart from the dry signal.
That Deluxe Memory Boy is a very cool pedal.
The analog delay can be a very ,very cool thing.
The insert feature on the pedal is brilliant.
Thanks for your post!
BillQuote:The insert on the DMB is def my favorite.. But they’re ALL very good!August 10, 2010 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Electro-Harmonix Effectology Special Edition Freeze Tricks #110821bill ruppertParticipantThe Freeze has a high quality buffered bypass.
This is the type of pedal where true bypass would be nearly impossible to do because of the nature of the momentary switching, the speed of switching and the type of effect it is where you want the DRY level to remain constant in both effect and bypass mode.
The Freeze is full bandwidth with 24 bit resolution and a sample rate equal to 66 kHz.
Quote:can you tell me what kind of bypass the Freeze has?? there is no informaion about it.
and i find it interesting to use freeze with overdrive. great video though!August 10, 2010 at 2:08 pm in reply to: Electro-Harmonix Effectology Special Edition Freeze Tricks #110815bill ruppertParticipantThanks for watching and the comments guys!
Billbill ruppertParticipantWow you are from Wisconsin!!!!
I love your state and go through Madison all the time.
My love is the Spring Green area.
I would live there if I could.
Wi has THE BEST cheese in the world…hands down.
The cows are the happiest cows I have ever seen!
Congrats on living in Mad city
You are so lucky!
BillQuote:Some new additions:Switchblade – Scotch with a cube of 10-year-old Wisconsin – and ONLY Wisconsin – cheddar in it. Cheese works in a drink; there is a bar in La Crosse, WI, that garnishes their Bloody Marys with Brussels sprouts, a cube of Pepper Jack, and something else I can’t remember. Best bloodys you’ll ever have.
Slapback Echo – Three fingers of Bourbon in one glass, two fingers in a smaller glass, and so on down. Definitely a drink special, never mind the fact that the really powerful Bourbon isn’t particularly cheap.
Ring Thing – A giant basket of onion rings, with a variety of sauces.
bill ruppertParticipantThanks TGM!
I have not played with the midi end of the pedal but what you describe sounds great.
Keep up the good work.
I have to break out a midi cable!!
BillQuote:Hey Bill;Got my HOG this past weekend, and I can’t stop playing with the thing! It’s hands down the best pedal I’ve ever owned.
I do a lot of work with Ableton live, looping my guitar and vocoder to create live dance/pop-rock. I’ve been using clips in Ableton to control the HOG via midi, time sync’d to my songs. This is an amazing feature that has allowed me to create Microsynth type sounds, amoung others, without needing to operate the expression manually.
I’m wondering if you’ve used this function of the HOG? I haven’t found much online about others implementing midi in this way.
Keep up the good work.. Looking forward to the next installment of Effectology!
TGM
bill ruppertParticipantThanks Biscuits!
You can use the 1rst or 2nd position on the Q button.
I have started to number the button which helps as you are right the color system does not work.
The LP filter needs to be adjusted for your setup.
You may need to go darker with it.
I also used the neck pickup on the guitar.
To help nail the sound start by playing something similar to what I played.
I used my fingers to pluck the strings, it works way better than a pick.
Good luck!
BillQuote:Hey there Bill, I was attempting to get the strawberry fields-ish mellotron flute sound, but am having a bit of trouble with the Q setting. It’s hard to judge by the chart since all three LEDs for Q are just more or less illuminated orange. Just wondering which Q setting you used. Thanks a lot for the vids!bill ruppertParticipantThe last preset is the Green Onions preset.
It is based on this:

One more thing.
I just set the stuff up and realized I used the spliter plug as a dummy plug.
A regular 1/4 works ok but there is twice the low end from the bigger plastic plug!
The extra surface area helps.
Bil
Quote:Thanks Bill, I’ll give that a try. I could see how that intense EQ would help. I am using the big box Muff (Silver with black sides and bottom). I’ll also try that extra boost. Thanks again.Quote:The Muff was all the way up.
I also have an LPB-1 after to boost the gain even higher.
To add to the thump, turn the bass on your amp all the way up and crank the middle control as well.
I went direct with out an amp so I used an EQ and boosted 150Hz by 15dB (low end) and 1.6K (middle) by 15dB.
I used the Big Box Muff.

BillQuote:Can anyone tell me the actual settings used for the “Big Muff Hand Drum”? I tried this out. I seem to get the best drum sounding response when I tap the dummy plug. The back of the unit work well also. Nothing to very little from the sides or knobs as shown in this clip. I’m guessing I just need the proper settings.
