Yes you can use both expression pedals at the same time.
BillQuote:Sure – I’ll wait for you to give the word! Thanks!bill ruppertParticipantI do not see why not.
BUT give me a day and I will check for sure.
Let you know tomorrow..OKbill ruppertParticipantMy favorite of all is the Boss FV-500L
Its built like a tank.
The M-audio is plastic….
BUT if your budget is tight the M-audio will work just fine!Quote:Thanks, Julian & Bill. So, it looks like I’ll be placing an order both for a Ravish and for an M-Audio expression pedal. Oh, one other question (which may result in that being an order for two M-Audio expression pedals) – can one hook up two expression pedals to the Ravish simultaneously, one to the Ravish’s “EXP drone” jack and the other to the Ravish’s “EXP Pitch” jack, so you don’t have to unplug/replug when going from one of the Ravish’s EXP functions (drone volume) to the other (lead pitch blend)? Thanks again.bill ruppertParticipantLouis yes the HOG and Ring Thing can kind of do that with the pitch pedal. BUT the Ravish has the sympathetic notes ringing in the back as you play.
NOTHING else will do THAT!
NOTHINGQuote:Is there a way to get the koto sound with other pedals?bill ruppertParticipantJullian
The range is root to one octave above.
I will not go down.
You program it in steps. 1 through 12.(actually 12 is notated on the pedal as 0)Quote:Bill, what’s the range on the pitch whammy settings? Can you do down octaves as well? Could you do -1 to +1 in the same sweep?bill ruppertParticipantYes!
Julian is right, the Boss and M-audio expression pedals works great.
Korg expression pedals on the other hand will not work.
The Vox you have will not work.Quote:All the EHX pedals I’ve had that have had expression work with your standard generic 10kohm expression pedal or a 0-5v CV signal.EHX doesn’t make an expression pedal, and in fact the HOG comes pre-packaged with an M-Audio.
I would suspect that this works similarly.
Looking at the Vox Tonelab SE it doesn’t have a 1/4″ stereo expression out. So I suspect those pedals only work via Midi.
And I don’t see a midi input on the Ravish, so I think you’d have to have a midi-analog converter box in between them.
bill ruppertParticipantBelow are the settings used in the Effectology Ravish Sitar video.
The opening drone was done with two tracks of Ravish in drone mode.
I looped one of the tracks and changed pitch with a SMM/H delay to create a huge chord.Only three pedals were used in this video.
A Ravish Sitar, Stereo Memory Man delay and Cathedral Reverb.Sitar Setting
A expression pitch pedal was used to bend notes.

The second picture to the right is a backward setting.
Use the guitar slider instead of the square wave slider if you want a clean guitar sound.August 13, 2011 at 4:40 pm in reply to: faulty bypass switch on smm hazarai. is it easy to replace myself? #115774bill ruppertParticipantAlso I used Deoxit of my switch and its been fine for a year now.
Just spray the back of the switch and it works its way in.http://www.adorama.com/HOD5S6.html?utm_term=c1bd154509a94d228b45bcfb1623727e&utm_medium=Search Site&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=adl-google

The flute sound may be a bit harder as I used the attach feature on the POG2 and the original POG does not have that. The original POG is great as it get a a wonderful grind or distortion when the input slider is pushed
doing organ sounds.Quote:Hi all,
I have an old school POG. I was wondering if there was a chart template version to achieve some of these amazing mellotron sounds with the first generation POG. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks!July 13, 2011 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Effectology episode #22 “Paranormal Guitar” by Bill Ruppert #115833bill ruppertParticipantCool
Look at the Soul Preacher or Black Finger.
I have used both and they are great at clean sustain.
BillQuote:Quote:Thanks Ecco_Luke.
Well for the theremin sound the Big Muff is by no means clean! Its a filthy dirty distortion.
At full up it creates an almost square wave from a clean guitar.
This wave form is full of high frequency stuff.
Turning down the tone knob rounds off the high harmonics created when the pedal clips or goes into distortion. This rounding off of the square wave looks and sounds more like a sine wave like a theremin.
Its still VERY distorted and best with only one or two notes at a time.
A compressor or sustainer pedal works differently and does not change the wave shape or sound of the clean guitar input. You are right I used a very clean neutral amp setting.
I do that with all the Effectology sounds as I want the sounds heard to be from the pedals and not effected by the amp I am using.
Hope that helps a little!
Thanks again for writing.
BillI was considering getting one for clean sustains, as I already have a Fender Fuzz-Wah I don’t want another fuzzy distortion pedal.
Thanks for the reply, and keep up the wicked videos!

BillQuote:The Theremin was absolutely incredible – made me think of a zombie apocalypse in the Wild West for some reason! Haha.I have a question about that particular tone, the BM Pi was acting more as a clean sustainer pedal than a distortion pedal there. How does the BM Pi cope solely as a clean sustainer pedal, against purpose-built sustainers? I’m also guessing your amp tone was set to clean to counteract the high gain added by the Sustain setting?
Thanks, and these videos are wicked

Yes I have a bunch of Ministar guitars and I love them.
You need to set them up but when you do they play like butter and sound huge.
They weigh 3lbs! and travel great(the airplane over head ect)I was shocked at how big they sound and that is due to it being a soild piece of maple, from top to bottom with a stop tail piece style bridge.
They have new improved models about to be released. I am excited to see whats new.
