Here are the settings for the rhythm guitar in the blues clip.
I used the Wiggler for a slight tremolo and found that the tube unit adds this slight over drive to the sound that reminds me of the old small tube combos I have played in the past.
Combo tube Amps like the Magnatone, Kay, and Danelectro all had this great OD when cranked up.
The Wiggler has the sound nailed.
In fact there is a little bit of hum in the signal just like the old amps! Here is the Tremolo setting. I have the output on 10:
For even more dirt, I have used the pedal in the ACEY or WURL mode with the rate control at zero and the intensity control very low.
This setting gives you the OD effect with very little to none of the vibro effect.
Great for that dusty old amp sound.
It also fattens the over all sound of the guitar.
Here is the OD setting to try.Bill Ruppert

I scanned the fronts of the boxes and with Photoshop cleaned them up and added the settings.
The HOG pic was a scan the first page of the manual.
I have pedal templates for all the sounds that will be featured.
Just double click the pic and its life size. There are some very cool sounds coming up in the upcoming clips.
I hope everyone stays tuned.
There will be something for everyone in many different styles.Bill Ruppert

Here are the settings for “transforming your guitar into a Blues Harmonica”
The pedals I used were the MicoSynth into the HOG.
Adjust the settings for what works best with the amp or recording system you have.
I recorded this direct with out an amp,if you are using a amp adjust the volume and tone knobs
for a clean flat sound.
Don’t be afraid to drive the HOG input light into the red.
The HOG’s distortion gave the sound a cool over driven combo amp effect. It helps if you play things that are in the style of what a real Blues Harmonica player would play.
Things like two note chords (4ths and 3rds) on the 2 and 3rd string sound great.Good luck and thanks for watching!

bill ruppertParticipantThe 16 second delay and the 2880 use the same adapter,
9 volts DC 500mA
Center is positive. If it is humming most likely the adapter is ether Non Regulated or under the 500mA requirement.
Many of the Boss 9 volt adapters are only rated at 200mA.
You are staving the delay for current and forcing the adapter past its point of clean output voltage.
That equals a Hum.See what your boss adapter says on the case as far as volts and current go.
Never just change the polarity to see if it is working.
Its a fast way to fry your gear.
Some pieces are very unforgiving.A cheap volt/ohm meter at radio shack will help you check what you have for about $10.
A great thing to have in your house for many guitar related projects.Good luck, your 16 second delay is a master piece in engineering.
One of my favorite pedals of all time!Bill Ruppert
bill ruppertParticipantThe manual that came with your POG will have instructions on the back page on how to send your unit in for repair.
The EHX repair department is great and very fast!
You will be up and running in no time.
Great support is one of the reason I use their pedals!Bill Ruppert
bill ruppertParticipantJ
The template is great!!!
It would be sweet to have them for the Mico Synth, POG, Holiest Grail ect.
Really nice and a great way to log things how did you make it?Bill
bill ruppertParticipantThank you very much J.
Yes I will post the formula.
There are many new mind bending sounds to come very soon.
Please stay tuned to this very station!

bill ruppertParticipantThanks Ron,
I did that and it attached a small pic that you have to double click to view.
Its in the “post your pedal board” thread.
All the other post pics are with out the “Attachment” label and are they are the full with of the post.
Billbill ruppertParticipantHere is just a small view of the (patch) bay window in my studio.
I grab the pedals I need for a sound like building blocks of a old analog synthesizer.

You need more room for more gear!!!
Looks like up is the only way you can go:-)
Billbill ruppertParticipantThanks for all the great comments!
I have found many more interesting EHX sounds.
Stay tuned.Bill Ruppert
bill ruppertParticipantThanks guys!
I sure had fun recording it.
To hear the way it does the slides off the note like a keyboard player slides his hand down the keys is just scary.
Also there is a grinding sound to the HOG B-3 sound I have NEVER heard except for the real thing.
Its heard best when a chord is held out and the Leslie is slowed down.
It freaked me out when I heard the HOG do it.
It was the missing organic link of the B-3 sound to my ears
No synth or Roland box I have will do it.
On top of that, the twin envelope and spectral gate is nothing short of genius.
Just a brilliant box, miles ahead of ANY thing out there.Bill Ruppert
April 1, 2009 at 2:15 am in reply to: Electro-Harmonix HOG Pedal does “Wont’ Get Fooled Again” #95088bill ruppertParticipantThanks everybody for the very nice posts!
I hope to find time this week to record a few more clips using EHX pedals.
Its so fun to find new places to take the electric guitar.
Forward thinking companies like Electro-Harmonix have given us a great opportunity to grow and expand our sound.
I have found many new sounds and hope to share them with you all in the near future.Bill Ruppert
bill ruppertParticipantQuote:(vox?)…peacest.bede,
To do a vox or voice sound I would need whats called a formant filter.
Its a filter that produces vowel and vocal sound.
I have done it in the past with different gear and it worked well.
It sounded more like an Opera tenor voice, but it did sound human.
Electro-Harmonix does not have any formant filter device that I know of and I want these clips to show off the merits of EH.
I will say it was a sound that would be VERY hard to place into a any contemporary recording.
I never was able to use it on a session except for the clip I produced for my self to show the VOX capabilities.I do have some cool new stuff coming up using the EH HOG pedal!
