    Thanks,

No, I’ve not tried a power conditioner. I’ve had a good look online though and they certainly look like they could do the job.

Is it common to use these to power pedals that are pedal board based? I can only find power conditioners that are designed for rack spacing. I don’t mind sitting the rack conditioner on the floor near my pedal board but do you know if they make more compact pedal board friendly conditioners (more like power strips)?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I’ve always placed my HOG pedal after my distortion boxes. The only reason I do this is because of the problem you describe.

If the HOG is at the start of my chain, and I turn on a high gain pedal, I can tap the casing of the HOG pedal / move the sliders / engage the switches etc. and hear the mechanical sound amplified by the distortion box. There may also be a faint hiss that is also magnified by a high gain pedal.

Does anyone have a solution to this? It must be something to do with the materials used to build the HOG casing (or some kind of electro magnetic problem) as this doesn’t happen with any other pedal I place before my distortion boxes.

Granted, you wouldn’t normally hear the noise because you’d like to think that you’ll actually be playing guitar when your distortion boxes are on, but for a tone purist like me, I find this deeply disappointing for a product that costs so much money.

    Thanks
