bump. Help me, EHX
beedoolaParticipantwhat is the length of travel? 60 or 100mm?
beedoolaParticipantAhh damn, well thanks a lot for helping me out
I have a Boss RV-3 I want to sell, maybe I can persuade my friend to buy it muhahaha
beedoolaParticipantI mean; is it common that IF the VC goes bad – as I’ve seen in other posts, that it will likely kill the main chip?
beedoolaParticipantehhh ya my buddy won’t want to do that.
I tried just jumping R1 – got the bypass LED and GATE LED to work. But no reverb and maximum blend yields no sound… I also replaced the voltage converter and that seems to be working – 18v on one side, 4.9v on the other side… Could a power spike or wrong power adapter blown the main chip? I thought thats what the voltage converter could protect against? There is a brown spot on the rear side of the PCB around where the VC goes – its not like burned black/brown, you can just tell something went on there cause its darker than the green of the PCB.
beedoolaParticipantyeah I just tried a 10ohm 1/2 and it blew it… Which is the main chip – the big one? or is it a chip that can be replaced?
beedoolaParticipantI had a hog but just sold it. Nice pedal but a lot of things that keep it from being a great pedal.
The “original” tone/slider needs to be more like the dry. If I want to use the HOG with the expression pedal to control volume, whammy, etc. it sounds terribly fake. The whammy sounds unconvincing.
Internal presets like others have mentioned. I don’t mind if the HOG remains the same size in terms of enclosure but it should have a Hazarai type preset option.
When the pedal is bypassed the Input gain should also be bypassed, it sucks when I get clipping from overdrive pedals – even with the HOG bypassed.
Replace the middle switch with a preset selector switch. I know of no one that owns a HOG that doesn’t also own an expression pedal, the exp. pedal middle switch seems kind of pointless.
Better polyphony. While the HOG is good, its not that good.
When using the freeze mode, the seems to be an out of tune occurrence between the original signal and the held signal. It goes away once the held chord only remains – doesn’t seem to occur when the dry slider is off…
May 18, 2011 at 11:06 pm in reply to: Toe Controller! (Nano Foot Controller for HOG, others?) #115243beedoolaParticipantthat is an awesome idea!!!
Got wind of this thread via the Hog 2 thread.
They must release one!
beedoolaParticipantQuote:Oh no, I’ve already done awesome things with a HOG and an Arduino. I made a 16 step sequencer that I gave to someone as an Xmas present. I need to get some more parts so that I can make one for myself. You don’t actually have to use the MIDI port to do that though, with a digital potentiometer IC or an optoisolater you can plug it into the expression port.
But with HOG midi control AFAIK you can only really use pitch wheel commands to work like an expression pedal.
Imagine though if every variable on the HOG had its own CC#. That would bring about infinite new possibilities.
Oh, I see! Would you be willing to share your arduino build/programming info? I’m a complete and utter noob to it so it would help alot. I build pedals but never done the arduino thing. Thanks

The fun I could have with an arduino!
Are you saying you couldn’t currently have fun with the HOG and an Arduino?
I sent MIDI pitch bend notes from Ableton to my HOG and could get weird sample/hold sounds and pattern tremolo sounds…
I wanted to look into programming an Arduino to do that so I could use a smaller external controller/sequencer or something to send the commands to the HOG. Thats what the MIDI port is for right?

Or you can email info@ehx.com for help.Quote:The “fine” slider switch on my 16 Second Delay broke and I need a new one. Can anyone suggest where I may find one? I’ve checked online parts stores like “Small Bear Electronics” with not luck. I’m able to repair the switch myself, I already de-soldered the broken one.How much would EHX charge to send me a replacement?
Thanks bill! Love the demos you do.
beedoolaParticipantQuote:futurlec carries slide pots at really cheap prices. find out what the value is on the broken one then look for it.It’s not a pot, just a right angled dpdt switch so it has no resistance value.
You’re thinking I’m referring to the big vertical slider pots on the top of the unit, this switch is on the rear.
beedoolaParticipantthats for the reply. I posted a thread over at Harmony Central, someone posted a pic and their POG insides are the same as my friend’s… Not sure what is up. A real bummer.
beedoolaParticipantThis is hilarious. My friend just brought me his POG to fix – having the same issue.
Can you all do me a favor and tell me how many wires are wired to the Switch? There are 2 wires on my friend’s POG switch – a yellow and a brown, however, there is some solder on a 3rd lug on the switch, with no wire going to it.
Thanks
beedoolaParticipantWell I’d like the ability to boost it, regardless of its current position.
