    Dear Reader,

I bought my EXH Bass Microsynth pedal new about 6 years ago and completely love it. Right out of the gates, one of the solder connections to my input jack snapped because the input housing kept coming unscrewed, and everything would shift/spin… snapped the solder. It seemed pretty clear what had happened, so I re-soldered it, glued the housing in place… worked great again… have since gigged with the pedal a ton over the last 6 years. However, the power just recently stopped working… light won’t go on, no sound, etc… so I thought the adapter might’ve died. However, I just got another power source, and my BMS still isn’t working. So… I opened the pedal, and here’s my question: there are two purple wires soldered to the inside of the power switch; one is soldered to 2 opposing poles on the switch… looks like it goes through one, runs to the other, and is soldered to both. However, the second purple wire is only soldered to one side… soldered to the hole it runs through, but the end is dangling in between the two poles… in the center of the switch. Is this likely the problem? It would appear both purple wires ought to be soldered to their two respective poles on both sides of the switches inside plate, correct? If not, does anyone have any other suggestions/ideas as to what this could be or how I would check it out? Do these power switches or power inputs ever just die and need to be replaced?

Thank you for your assistance… I would love to just quickly solder this other connection and throw this killer pedal back on the gig asap!! I just want to double check before soldering anything.

    Thanks!!
