B.DawsParticipant
The MT is so lush sounding to me! I have an Akai Headrush, WH Aqua Puss and have had a few other delays and I think the MT can hang with any of them. For the price and size of the pedal it really is unbeatable.
Thanks SanquiFlerb for the comments on the song and giving it a listen as well!
B.DawsParticipantDid you try making sure you don’t have the “mic bypass” clicked(left foot switch). Also you have to make sure the blend is at 50% or so as most of the knobs only affects the wet signal.
B.DawsParticipantCool man! What do you think of the colour options and the drive & fuzz on the HS? It is really am amazing versatile pedal. Well as I said good luck on your pursuit and keep on rockin’! Don’t forget though in all your learning don’t lose the feel, often technique can create sterility. Sorry I got your review post so off topic.
B.DawsParticipantI hope the post didn’t sound offensive as I see how it could read that way. I just meant that when somebody knocks you don’t feel like you have to say “I’m getting better” or those videos were old. If things aren’t perfect or you think they are sub par you should not put them out there and then use excuses. I have made the same mistakes myself and it only opens you up to credibility issues. Just keep doing what you do and keep practicing and let your guitar speak for itself and you.
[Cater: alternate definition: Try to satisfy]You didn’t answer my band question either!
I’m also curious about your metal/jazz training you have? It seems like at your age you wouldn’t have much training time under their belt so I’m wondering how much studying have you done? Do you study under other people? I read you saying I like jazz/metal, anything from jazz to metal, etc but those are two very different genres and I don’t even know what technically runs between jazz and metal. So what do you think runs between those two genres?
I know this may seem like I’m asking a lot but I’m just curious and I’m a psychologist so it’s just part of my nature.
Last question, do you ever use the tone or colour knobs much on the HS? What about the drive and fuzz?
B.DawsParticipantI love my Holy Stain as well(I got mine for $20 used at a guitar store). The room reverb is kind of meh compared to the hall imo. Also the pitch bend is crazy, have you tried it with an expression pedal? Can get some really wacky sounds. I use mine in front of an EVJ just for a little reverb and it rocks.
I was kind of surprised by you Lee as I started looking at your Myspace and other videos, I originally thought it was some kind of joke. I just realized you are younger and seem to be trying and that is awesome but I encourage you to stop trying to use your age so much and commenting that you are getting better to people every time they knock you. You have nothing to prove but to yourself! The more you try to cater to others the more you lose your own identity and soul. There are always going to be haters out there. Why do you always play solo with backing? Can you not find a band to play with? Keep rockin’ Lee!
B.DawsParticipantI agree I just wondered if you ear was hearing what mine was. It’s not that I wanted to knock these guys but they do the pedal an injustice. It sounds overly trebly to me and also their distortion sounds like complete mush with very little articulation. The pedal can be way more clear and sensitive then what is being put out there.

Just please answer my question when you get yours…on the overdrive side if you lower the bias does it produce a lot of static. The further I lower the bias past noon on that side the worse it gets. I posted the question in the forums and dropped a line to EHX about 2 or 3 weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything.I have not found this with mine either. The bias does this no matter what the other knobs are set to?
Yes but it’s only on the Overdrive side between start and 12 o’clock. I sent it back to the company I ordered it from and they are sending me another one.

Something is wrong with mine then which is what I originally assumed. It is a fantastic sounding pedal regardless of the issue with mine. I just love dropping the volts to about 10-11 o’clock on the distortion side. It’s beautiful. I’ll get started on the RMA process…

B.DawsParticipantYes I bought one as soon as they came out. Check out my thread about 7 threads down. It’s a really gnarly pedal but I have had one question about mine no one has answered yet(see thread). It’s a great silicon distortion pedal, not so much a fuzz. It is very tweak able. The distortion with the overdrive on sounds HUGE!
B.DawsParticipantQuote:can you get like soft warm overdrive tones from this ?I don’t see why not? The overdrive side can go from clean boost to gritty crunch. Check out some of the YouTube vids on it. It does sound very warm to me.
B.DawsParticipantHey Kitrae,
I noticed on the overdrive side when I turn the bias down(CCW) it turns to pure static around 9 o’clock. Does yours have the same issue? Is this normal? It is fine from about 12 o’clock up.
B.DawsParticipantQuote:I like soundclick a lot myself. Tell me, with both channels on can you get Big Muff sounds? And also can you get weird fuzz sounds by playing around with the bias?I was basically using the overdrive side as a lead boost to the distortion side when I was playing around. I’m sure if you upped the gain on both sides you can get into sonic mayhem. It sounds quite different from my muff though(Russian). Also the bias has a strange effect which allows you to go from a mellow/compressed tone to a more edgy sound(maybe it effects the clipping?). The volts has a huge impact on “fuzzness” though and with it down you can get a very good torn speaker sounding fuzz. Maybe some day I will have time to record some clips.
