I crave the interaction with a live drummer.
Is it possible that my SMM pedal is not working right since there’s a slight lag when you push the switch and the the loop light comes on?
The videos make it look so effortless, but I seem to be milliseconds off, which compounded over many measures makes it not worthwhile. I know some dedicated loopers have quantizing, so I might need to look that direction. Even the EHX 2880 doesn’t look set up for live use. Oh well – I’d prefer to stay EHX but maybe not on this type of product.
axis7ParticipantTo be clear, it is only the low output when I have the -1 Octave up full and no dry signal. To get to normal volume would clip.
I hadn’t thought of Analogizer as a boost, mostly since I’m opposed to pushing two footswitches down to get a sound, but that would likely work. I could try it. I actually have HOG in effects loops, and Analogizer in series after a slightly bright Pigtronix Phase pedal, which works great. I’ll try your experiment though!
axis7ParticipantThank you Bill! BTW your videos are awesome and inspired me to get the Memory Man, recently the HOG, and I also just ordered the Analogizer.
The volume issue is not horrible but watching VU meters in Pro Tools as well as audibly, it’s softer than clean. Footpedal experiment didn’t improve it either. I don’t own the Micro Synth but it seems like that was for envelope filter effect, which I seem to have enough of in the HOG. I am trying to achieve a cello/standup bass sound at equal volume to my dry signal. Maybe I’ll see how the Analogizer works as a boost, unless anyone has other suggestions. Thanks!

I think it might have been that the original loop was short, and my overdubs were too long.
Also, EHX was kind enough to give me a quick reply directly:
“Thanks for purchasing the Hazarai. When you create your loops where you experiencing this problem, what mode are you in? If you are in LOOP mode, the solution will be to turn the REPEATS knob clockwise. While in LOOP mode the REPEATS knob controls the amount attenuation applied to the old loop while overdubbing new audio. If REPEATS is maxed there will be no attenuation.” -
