I would consider the matter closed. I replaced the resistors with the original values and I made peace with the slight volume drop, which btw is not as severe if there’s not many pedals in the same chain. I might maybe do a true bypass later on but i really prefer the unmodded sound. At least I this time I remembered to check the pot dates: 11th week of 1977.

    Ciao!
    I did get mine fixed.
I figured out that it was the IC which acts as the LFO. It’s the IC nearest the potentiometer. I wasn’t getting any oscillating voltages anywhere on the board so I supposed that this IC was broken. I bought a new one fr eBay for about £6 (€5) and soldered it in- it worked!
While I was at it I installed a 3pdt switch to make it true bypass and have an LED indicator. I also performed the volume mod with a trim pot to make the effect volume louder.
I now have an awesome phaser that suitable for live use!
I hope you get yours sorted!

Where did you install the trimpot for more gain? I tried the volume mod on my 70s version 2 by replacing r11 and r42 with 10k and I get a dirty sound, less volume drop granted but I don’t like the sound anymore. Also do you have a diagram for the 3PDT switch install? Thx in advance…

So I recently purchased an old deluxe electric mistress (V2 i belive) it worked great for 2 or 3 days, now it wont sweep as if it is permanently in filter matrix mode, ive tried retouching the solder joints for the pots, and the filter matrix switch but that didnt work. Any ideas? what it could be?

I would try to bypass the Filter Matrix switch to exclude that component as the culprit for the problem. Make a photo of the wiring, desolder the connections and use crocodile clamps and wire to make make the connections. If the sweeping still seems inactive I would go for the rate/speed and depth/range pot. Is there a discernible difference in sound between Filter Matrix On and Off?
