December 9, 2009 at 10:24 pm in reply to: XO enclosures vs. Vintage enclosures — cast your vote. #105097AshjaahsMuffParticipantboth for me
most of my board is XO, but the sound is still awesome. i think the size is a good thing with the XO’s and your still generally speaking getting the same pedal.
however theres nothing as good as seeing an original / big box EHX pedal
AshjaahsMuffParticipantQuote:I use the pedal on mine and it’s pretty awesome. It’s cool with the Wah and Phaser. Can’t use it very much with the Vibrato and it produces a very strange effect on the Tremolo. What are some more specific questions you might have?does it sweep like a wah does ? or just general sounds around the range and depth that you set it at
thanks
AshjaahsMuffParticipantQuote:All I have of that list is the Stereo Pulsarin CM: 9.2cm x 11.7cm
in inches: 3 5/8 in x 4 5/8 in
that will be the same size for the holy grail plus too

Help Help…… someone know the tru out there?
id put it like this
Guitar Or Bass
Tuner
Bass Balls
Octave MultiPlexer
Wah
Muff
Small Clone
1echo
Volumeone reason why you may have lost volume, could be where you put your tuner (sometimes)
it needs to be right at the start or right at the end.the 1echo is known to lose volume when engaged no matter what setting you have it on, some are lucky and dont have this but 90% do. thats why i suggested putting the volume where i did, so if you have it set at a certain level for normal stuff and then when you kick on the 1echo, you can change your volume level to match your original signal.
you could also try the octave multiplexer after the muff, im not too familiar with that pedal, but everything is in what i believe is th right order
AshjaahsMuffParticipantthe way i would do it is
Compressor
Crybaby
q-tron
TubeScreamer
Big Muff
(lpb1)
Delay
(lpb1)the reason i have both the lpb1s there is it depends on what your using it for
as a solo boost, put it straight after the big muff, or as an overall boost, last in the chain
i would also try the qtron before and after the od/dis
hope this helps
my old board went
Ns2 in
Compressor
Phaser
DR Q
Micro Pog
Wah
English Muff
Big Muff
Mxr Micro Amp
Stereo Electric Mistress
1echo

Dr Q, Stereo Electric Mistress
AshjaahsMuffParticipanthey
ive got the english muff’n and think its an awesome pedal, before i got it, i was running an mxr +, and a boss od3
when i first tried out the muff’n i was so suprised at the amount of different sounds you could get out of it, so it was a definate winner.
the way im currently running it is after my wah, but first od/dis, i have it set to a fairly warm od now, as i also have a big muff. im also running it through a marshall avt150 head and 4×12 cab, and a fender custom telecaster.
i did consider at one time getting another one, because it is just soooo awesome. ive got the original tubes in it, although im lookinh at getting another set of them and replacing them, its had a lot of use.
i cant remember my settings on the top of my head but its something like treble 12, mid 10, bass 8 (oclock)
gain depends on what im using it for but between 9and3 (oclock)AshjaahsMuffParticipantive recently got the big muff with tone wicker and i think it is an amazing pedal, the variety of sounds you can get out of it and everything is just great.
i used to stack an od3 and english muff’n to get my “rock” distortion, i liked it, but there was something missing, and then i got the big muff, awesome,
AshjaahsMuffParticipantdoes anyone know if it has a trim pod ?
AshjaahsMuffParticipantthanks for your settings i shall try them tomoz !!!
AshjaahsMuffParticipantQuote:Quote:i have just got the micro pog and was wondering are they any settings you could suggest please ?12 string guitar
bass
jack white soundetc
cheers for your replyi shall have a look at those settings tomorrow
thanks
Here’s how I use the micro-pog as a bass player (and it’s been a mainstay on my board since I got it 3 years ago or whatever):
For a basic “thicken” sound, I max the dry, set -1 at 11 o’clock, and +1 at 9 o’clock.
For an “8-string” sound, I play through the neck pickup of my Ricky with dry at max, -1 at min, and +1 at about noon.
When I play guitar solos on my bass, I’ve got dry and -1 at min, +1 at max, into a metal muff with the top boost engaged and at noon.
For a 12-string sound, I’d max dry, -1 at min, +1 to taste (starting around noon, it’s going to depend how your amp is eq’d)
For Jack White, I dunno, I’d start with dry at min, -1 at 3 o’clock, and +1 at noon, into a big muff, into a vintage low-wattage tube amp. Replace big muff with metal muff and tube amp with sunn beta lead for a passable King Buzzo sound. Helps if your guitar is made of aluminum.
AshjaahsMuffParticipantive heard its got an internal trim pod ? is this correct ?
AshjaahsMuffParticipantyh the ones on the youtube videos dont drop either
it works up until about 9oclock and then after that it only sounds very quiet and like s slight quacky sound, but hardly any
il ring the place tomoz and see wht can happen with it, if anything i might try and swap it for a worm xo
AshjaahsMuffParticipantQuote:Thanks for all the info .. I guess my only question would be how does the muffn stack up against other (non EHX) OD pedals
again thanks — Rayi used to stack it with a boss od3 and occasionally an mxr +, and it stacked very well, but im now using it with a big muff tone wicker and that is awesome aswell !!!
the muff’n is deifnatly one of the most underated pedals ever and its bloody awesome
