I’ve made an analog delay shootout once: http://tehsecs.com/gear/shootout.html
It’s only 3 pedals, but you can get the picture. The DM-2 has an MN3205 and the Two-Timer has a V3205. Hear for yourself!asatbluesboyParticipantAh, EHX… Every day giving me more reasons to love you.
asatbluesboyParticipantIsn’t the 3205 a lower-current version of the 3005? Anyways, if it can be done, he could try using the V3205. It sounds close enough for most applications, though somewhat pingy.
asatbluesboyParticipantNope, you need an input signal from, say, a keyboard or a guitar. It doesn’t need to come out, but it does need to come in. I don’t know whether it would work with pre-recorded stuff, though.
asatbluesboyParticipantAs long as it is tip-positive, yes, it will work. The more miliamps you’ve got, the better.
asatbluesboyParticipant+1 for the Memory Boy. Flanger Hoax, maybe Voice Box.
asatbluesboyParticipantActually, the Hoax has three outputs (direct, blended and wet) and you can use all three, so it’s got one more output in comparison to the Polyphase. I just don’t know whether the Polyphase has got some optimization for a deeper stereo effect or something.
asatbluesboyParticipantAll are analog.
asatbluesboyParticipantThey differ on complexity. The Flanger Hoax can do anything you want and more (much, much more), including through-zero flanging. It’s quite a complex beast, though. The Polyphase is right in the middle, and offers a lot of sounds –though not as much as the Hoax. The Small Stone is pretty much a 4-trick pony (color up and down, slow and fast), but boy, what tricks! I kick myself every other minute for selling mine…

asatbluesboyParticipantQuote:do you mean it won’t make a sound at all if its set to zero? or is the sound delayed? and is it a new problem or always that way?I’ve got it about a month ago (used) and there won’t come out any sound when I turn it on unless I set the trigger up a little. If the trigger is higher than zero, though, there’s no problem.
Quote:My micro synth takes a minute or so to warm up after it’s been powered down for awhile.Hmm… Thanks for the tip. I’ll try and wait a minute or two to see if that works, but I’ll probably just keep upping the trigger when I turn it on. Did you try that?
Any EHX staff has the inside scoop on it?
asatbluesboyParticipantBump.
asatbluesboyParticipantQuote:so it really wouldnt matter if i used the 1/4 watt instead the 1/2 watt. would it make any difference to the sound at all or would it be the same?1/4 has a bit less noise, but it’s barely noticeable in simple circuits as most pedals. It will fit highly-populated PCBs with a bit more room, but are indeed a bit harder to work with.
I only use 1/4-watters.
asatbluesboyParticipantQuote:#1 is my favoriteit’s just soooo wrong
I bet Michael Jackson would tap her
asatbluesboyParticipant#2 and #1 as the worst ideas ever. #6 for the punkiness. #7 looks fun as well.
