This is pretty unbelievable.
I tried to feed my MS with the 9v output of the Korg Pitchblack (simplier because I have a very messed up pedalboard) .
If I use the Microsynth alone (Guitar-> effect-> amp) it works perfectly, but if I put it in chain with the other effects it doesnt’work.
If I engage it the red led keeps working good but there is no sound…update: from the “manual”
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The Micro Synth will not work with the same power adaptor that is daisy chained to other pedals in its signal chain. Please run the Micro Synth off of its own power adapter.
I read this but I don’t get it. The pedal has the same power supply that only feeds it. ???

Maybe it’s aFuzz Factory with a strong octave up setting. Thanks, I’ll try!

Little Off-topic: I want to ask you how to reproduce the guitar “synth” of Dominic Simper from Tame Impala in this video:
He has a pretty basic pedalboard and i can’t really figure out (neither in many forums where I asket to other pedal junkys)…
These are all his pedalboard pics available in the web that I found:
http://s688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/and_trea/Dominic Simper/I owned POG, POG2 and MicroSynth but none of them come close to that sound.
Someone said he use a POG sometime but sounds definitely more “chewy” (especially the POG 2) to my ears.
The Verbzilla “Octo” setting could be definitely a good hint, but I guess there is more…I started to think that maybe he goes with the guitar into his microkorg (there a Boss Line Selector in the pedalboard too) but I think it’s a little bit too complicated…

December 7, 2009 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.10 “The Electric Piano Effect” #104923andtreaParticipantI am very tempted to pull the trigger for an used HOG.
The only worrying is its size…Do you think that a compressor behind would be a must with it too?
November 25, 2009 at 11:55 am in reply to: Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.10 “The Electric Piano Effect” #104206andtreaParticipantThanks Bill.
I have a new XO series pedal, not the old large box version.I already thought to add a compressor before the Micro-Synth, but I had a very bad luck and the Analogman comp that I was waiting went lost in a catastrophic shipment from a TGP danish forumite
Anyway a comp will probably my next pedal, to avoid some well knowm dead notes and sustain problems of our beloved Micro-Synth..
About the swirl: I didn’t get the Delay modulation, i’ll try to add some with my MiniDejaVibe, but I suppose that the main difference is the strong and compressed signal of the Soul Preacher that loads better the Synth…Thanks again for all your help and creativity!

In particular in this case, I always tried to get a convincing Rhodes fx… but in my rig I get a very different sound.
I have a Micro-synth, (Moogerfooger) ring mod, delay and reverb etc.. so basicaly I can reproduce your rig and sound chain (except for the compressor).
I find your Micro-Synth setting “light”, and the sound doesn’t “swirl” at all…
The MS is a very strange beast, some slight variation can produce very strong variation… any suggestion?andtreaParticipantQuote:If you don’t have a Reissue Hot Tubes, jump on this opportunity while you have the chance.I adore this pedal. It has such a classic Rock sound.
I’m using it on this song http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6938025
and in this soundclip http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6820524 (but you have to guess which 2 riffs the Hot Tubes was used on)
I loved mine too, but I decided to sell it because it is really too big for my pedalboard (included that big sized adapter jack on the left side :nono: ).
Could you recommend me a similar but smaller distortion pedal, especially for (tone and gain) versatility and sustain potentials?andtreaParticipantQuote:Quote:About the vintage SPWhick kind of power supply and tip needs?

..and i would appreciate some general info and comments on this pedal

I have to say that I really can’t stand the auto-tune effect all over the radio these days, but you guys have done a good job with it.
+1
There must be some very strict laws about vocoder abuse, I want Black Eyed peas in jail… FOREVER!
andtreaParticipantAll this talking about “Infinite” reverb makes me think to this song, @ 2:26
andtreaParticipantQuote:Overall, I’d say that my Graphic EQs are among my top 5 most essential pedals to my rig. I wouldn’t gig without at least one of them. Can I ask you why? Which is its major pro?
Do you use it as a booster or to shape your sound?I’m very curious abot that because one of best italian band (and more powerful tone) guitarist (Alberto of Verdena) has one of them in pedalboard.
