My new Big Muff arrived this morning, so I partnered it up with my EQ to create the Big Muff w/EQ fuzz!!!
It’s a great combination, you can turn the tone knob down on the muff to find that spot where you get the most mids, then use the eq to bring the highs back in, or you can turn the tone on the BM to a more scooped position and use the EQ to bring the mids in……you can use the EQ to take some of the bottom end out of the muff and, well you get the picture…the tonal possibilities are almost endless.
anyway, awesome stuff, I really like the BM RI, it sounds a lot better than the Triangle clone I owned once imo and it nice to have one back again….even though when partnered with the EQ it creates what is probably the most stupidly big fuzz box ever!! (no, I guess a deluxe and the eq would be even bigger!!)….. love it.
I’d really like to pick up a graphic eq of some sort. What was the triangle clone you didn’t like?
On top of the DEM? I hadn’t thought of that. I’m going to need a bigger board anyway because I plan on getting a LPB-1, tuner, EQ, and a couple of cheap Behringer pedals. I use the DEM almost exclusively for the filter matrix, I use another flanger for true flange.
Yeah man, I bet you could fit at least 2 of your smaller pedals right on top of all that unused space, leaving plenty of room to hit the footswitch.
It’s very messy at the moment because I haven’t velcroed the new board yet and I still need to work out the placement, most likely I’ll need a bigger board because of the size of the DEM. (Not picture in chain is Cry Baby wah before everything and Alesis Microverb after everything)
Why not velcro some of your pedals on top of it?

As you know, I’ve been shopping for a nice pedal for New Year, and well, although I wanted an EHX, I, well…. Bought an MXR Blue-Box It’s awesome, but have any of you ever felt bad because of, like, betraying some company? I remember when I bought my Big Muff, I felt because I betrayed BOSS
But the blue box is plain awesome.
And I still plan to buy lotsa ehx stuff later on (ehx pedals actually nearly totally disappeared from our shops).
Word. The gear is there to serve you, not the other way around!
Effects with germanium transistors do this often, just depends on your location and house wiring. I have a silicon fuzz, the ultra lord, that does it so its not limited to germanium effects but more common in them. It does it sometimes so clear I can hear every word on the radio and the funny thing is that its American radio yet I’m in Australia! Just try it in a different room, different power outlet and different positions and settings, sometimes you cant get rid off it sometimes you can.
I once heard Japanese radio using a Marshall Guv’nor, and I live in the US!
