I have a few ‘9’s B9,C9, etc except Mel9 – I’m not aware there are 2 versions.
Maybe a footswitch topper will make it easier to step on ?
2mixParticipantI’ve tried a few none EHX power supply, which may work (but mostly won’t work) with “9” pedals. There are numerous threads describing this problem here.
You need to get an original EHX 9.6 replacement power supply for your country.
2mixParticipantPreviously hosted at Photobucket, now it’s asking for payment.. so Im testing it at facebook.
Can you view it ?
2mixParticipantWhich one work best for bass guitar lower range ?
2mixParticipantQuote:Other than using a current doubler, is the other way around this issue, just powering on the Strymon Zuma without the EHX “9” pedals connected, wait a few seconds, then connect the EHX “9” pedals? (I’m trying to avoid buying more power connectors)Powering up a none EHX adapter, wait, then connect the ‘9’ will work also. But you probably don’t want to do that once you have setup your pedal board. Btw, the EHX 9.6 volts adapter came as a package together with the ‘9’.
2mixParticipantMay I add, I play finger style (extra finger noise?) on top of an Ibanez RG9 (9 strings – modified with 3 real bass string gauge) ..probably with added bass rumbling, instead of simply string ringing.
Note : I’m aware of the limit of low range the ‘9’s may be able to process. I’m using the ‘9’s to play regular guitar range while ditto looping over some bass/chords progression.

~ C9

~ Synth9

2mixParticipant> In case someone else has this problem.
It is a known issue that the supplied EHX adapter must be used for any ‘9’ series.
There was a previous posting about this and I’ve experienced what you encountered using none EHX power supply.
2mixParticipantSynth 9 with a gate definitely works better. Careful body / hand movement will not trigger Synth 9 now. Much more playable overall.

2mixParticipantThank you for the reply.
I think Synth 9 is more sensitive to finger noise and tap than the other 9s. I’ve been comparing them by swapping in / out – with the 9 as the only pedal.
For example, the same finger noise / tap / or slight string ringing – if running it via C9, the noise is still there, but very slightly that it didn’t bothers, whereas on the Synth 9 (with the explanation of a built in compressor) the slight noise is now about the same loudness as an actual (soft) note.
So, will it improve the Synth 9 if I put a gate pedal as the first pedal, then the Synth 9 ?
2mixParticipantNobody got a Synth 9 yet ?
2mixParticipantQuote:Very cool ideas!!Thanks!
While waiting for my pedals to arrive, I’m thinking if I can mix the various Key9,B9 and C9 output back to the chain so that it can further be processed by my other pedals (compressor, reverb, etc) for a single output. While I did not buy the Mel9, I’m sure some of you may have all the series!
Loop 5 (L5) must be on, to be combined with one or more L1,L2,L3 and L4 for the sound to join back to the loop. Guitar signal is not mixed back – at least I don’t think I wanted it in this setup.
For regular guitar playing, L1 to L5 shall be switched off, and signal begins on L6.
I’m not sure if this will work at all. I can only test it out once all the items arrive (Key9,B9,C9, loop-switching controller, MX400 line mixer).
