Hello everyone! Longtime EHX user, big fan of the products, but encountering problems with my new XO Worm. As the entire world has long since acknowledged, it adds a lot of noise to your signal, and the main problem seems to be the 24v power supply provided along with it.
I’m willing to buy a new power supply, and I’ve tried using alternate power adapters such as 9vDC Boss/EHX/Behringer power supplies, but all of these can’t even physically connect with the EHX! It seems there’s a built in construction that only allows the stock 24 power adapter to fit. Forcing it in only seems to bend the power input out of place.
My question is, what workarounds have other Worm users found? Is there an adapter out there that does fit? Is there a way to alter the pedal so that it uses 9VDC instead of 24VDC? Is there a rudimentary battery connector within that I could wire a 9V adapter to?
Much appreciated?
you could run two 9v supplies into an 18v supply but the signal-to-noise ratio will be worse.
I could get an EHX Signal Pad and take the rudimentary 9v input out, and swap out the Worm’s 24v input for that one. I opened up the Worm, the 24v input is soldered straight onto the PCB, very clean and tight. Can I heat up the solder and take it out smoothly, or is it locked in place?
