    Hello,

I have an original LPB-1 that I resurrected from the closet. Unfortunately the black wire from the 9-volt battery clip has broken off from wherever it was attached to. Can someone provide an image of the inside of this unit so I can see where I need to resolder this to?

    Thank You,
    CJ

On most pedals it goes to the input jacks ‘ring’ connection. (the tab that connects to the shorter of the two springy bits)

It may go to the back of the pot.

This isn’t a pedal. Its the original little box with the slide switch and rotary control. Also, the input (and output) jack only has one ‘springy bit’ for the tip. But there is a tab that connects directly to the interior of the jack, so same principal I guess. However, it doesn’t seem like the wire would have originally connected there. The way it is curled seems like it would have connected to something a little closer to the other end.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hmmn, the on/off switch does have a bit of solder on the middle pin on the side opposite of where that green component connects to (towards the outside of the unit). Maybe that’s where it came from.

There should be one battery wire that solders to the back of the pot. Depending on whether the effect is positive or negative ground, it could be either the black or the red. The other will likely go to the circuit, not the switch. The switch is used for bypass only.

Can you post a pic of the inside?

Sure thing. 2 pics attached below. Let me know if you need a different angle.

    Thanks.

It’s hard to tell from the pics, but I believe it goes to the center lug of the switch, next to the 2 resistors on the top row.

Thanks Ron. I’ll give that a shot today and report back.

Ok, Ron’s suggestion to connect the wire to the middle connector of the switch seemed to have worked fine. A little contact cleaner as well and we’re back in 1979!!

    Thank You,
    Chris
