Hi all, i’ve a Big Muff USA Reissue that i modified mounting sockets in transistor and diodes places to try different combination of them. Everything was well (except for something that i’ll tell later) and finally i closed it with 4 BC239Cs, 3 schotcky diodes (i think) and 1 red LED.
During a month, the Big Muff was great, i liked its new tone, fuller, less noisy and maybe more metal-ish (like a Big Metal Muff Pi xD). But suddenly, it stop sounding.Instantly, i suppose what was the problem. During the modifications, i had many problems with the wiring of the Big Muff, because the wires broke at soldering points constantly. When the Big Muff stop sounding (with the effect on and on bypass), i knew that a wire had said ‘bye’. I opened it and i saw two unsoldered wires :S. I soldered it in where i thought they were but that didn’t work (now it sounded on bypass but not with the effect engaged). I tried re-soldering the sockets, i changed the 3PDT but that was not the problem.
Then, the wiring must be wrong but I don’t see the problem (and now i don’t remember what were the problematic wires T-T)
I put some photos, help please…

Many, many, many thanks guys
Greetings from Spain

Do you remember which wires you re-soldered?
May 11, 2010 at 6:17 pm #103966MoKoLoKoMemberThe unsoldered wires were in the board, but I don’t remember what colors they were (maybe it was a strange astral conjunction but ALL my DIY things got broken on this week )

The battery clip will have the black wire going to the input jack sleeve connection, and the red lead will go to the adaptor jack. This should be a good start.July 23, 2010 at 9:50 am #110445MoKoLoKoMemberHi, i’ve printed a Big Muff schematic, and i’ve revised all wires and modding solder points… and nothing. I think that all the wires go where they must go, and it doesn’t seem to be cold soldering points, so back to the beginning i don’t know why my Big Muff don’t work.
The battery clip doesn’t seem to be the problem, the LED lights when the pedal is engaged and the device sound with a little little volume.
The sustain pot work, but the signal which receive is very very low, but volume pot only works something when it’s in its maximum point, when you lower it, it start some mass noise.
Some new ideas?

There are two wires that come from near the input jack that were inadvertently disconnected and I cannot figure out where they are supposed to go! EHX, please help, I don’t want to scrap the pedal and go boutique!!!
