    Hey everyone,

    After spending quite some time looking online for an answer to this question, I found nothing. I’m rewiring my pedalboard right now, and I’m trying to see if I can power my Polytune Mini 2 and JHS Little Black Buffer through one of my 9.6v EHX power supplies. While it worked when I powered it on, I didn’t want to risk frying the circuits since the power supply has 0.6v more than required.

    What are your thoughts and recommendations? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

    I build pedals and in the process I’ve learned that many 9V DC sources actually put out about 9.4 to 9.6. Decent components should be able to handle those small differences in voltage (in fact the resistors and capacitors used in a pedal sufficiently vary from the values that they’re supposed to have that you can expect a decent range of voltage variability from pedal to pedal. I think you will be fine, but maybe be careful if you have any digital pedals, because sometimes those ICs can be touchy.

    You will be fine.
    A fresh 9volt battery actually puts out 9.6 volts .
