    I’d have to say that the big POG will probably become a collectors item within about 10 years or so, probably because it’s going to become XO’d with some possible control changes. I also think the Double Muff will become somewhat sought after, because it’s probably going to end up discontinued (not that I want it to, this is just speculation). What are your thoughts? What pedals do you think I should buy so they can be sold in a time of crisis for big bucks somewhere down the road?

    Definetly the Flanger Hoax.

    I’ve heard that its going to be discontinued but i dont know for sure.

    it’s difficult to say, the quick answer is ‘any they stop making’ I suppose.

    I guess anything that isn’t in a diecast case to be honest.

    as for big bucks? the ones everyone wants Big Muff, DMM…..

    well look at what those green sovteks are worth now, if they ever stop making the Big ‘Big Muff’ it will shoot up in value for sure, I think they will be very desirable in the future.

    Are there any components in the current model that are unique in comparison to others (diodes, transistors, opamps, all of that stuff I have no clue about)

    I’m pretty sure the current one will be worth alot.

    People will probably still want 70’s modles 20 years from now, and they will probably be worth a ton.

    The 3003A Big muff is destined to be come a classic IMO, thats the version most people own today. The reason being its the last version to use individual wires to wire it up, the new version uses ribbon cable and a tiny PCB for the switch, people will swear the 3003A is better even though its not. The new version is available in most stores right now, there’s only one way to tell if you have the new one and that’s open it up and look at the PCB, if its blue and has “revision C” on it its new.

    hey Ned, I can’t see any markings on my board, are they on the underside or something??

    no ribbon or board on the switch though.

    oh, and the board is green.

    Its a older 3003A then because on that one the revision is on the component side and on the new one the board is blue with EC3003 Revision C on the solder side.

    There is revision B pedals floating around but I don’t know how common they are, that was a 2007 revision, I have the schematics for A,B and C and B and C don’t differ that much TBH.

    cool…cheers, I genuinly find this stuff interesting. (although, I have no idea why!!)….just an ehx geek I guess. :D

    we never did solve the mystery of the two different ‘subtitles’ on the tube zipper though …..being ‘tube maze’ and ‘distortion +envelope filter’ which came first and why was it changed….just one of the unsolves ehx mysteries!!

    Does anyone think the non XO frequency analyzer will be worth a lot? Everything seems to be turning into an XO so i wouldnt see it not being worth a lot.(did that sentence make sense?)
