I have:
Squier Mini (my starting guitar)
Gibson SG Special (worn brown, very nice)
Ovation Balladeer Special (cedar top, only in CT)
’63 Fender Jaguar (woot!)
Peavey Grind 4 (bass…which I love)February 21, 2009 at 6:41 am #93754StankerbellMemberMy guitars:
NONE:freak:
My mandolins:
Eastwood Mandocaster in black
Epiphone Mandobird VIII in sunburst (the old, rich sunburst that actually looks like a Firebird, not the new yellow-y crap)
No-name mandolin/banjo hybrid [under construction (called a “manjo” or a “banjolin” or sometimes just “mandolin banjo”)] retrofitted with a mini-neck humbucker, a transducer, an LP style switch, and Tele style knobs (V/V/T). Knobs and switch are located on either side of the neck (switch/tone/neck/volume/volume) on the resonator.I’m in the process of finding a beaten-to-death Mustang so I can mod it to be an octave mandolin, too…

February 21, 2009 at 10:42 pm #93785SiriustarMemberNo, it’s a Lyle. I sold it, actually. I’m kind of thinking about getting a Gretsch to fill the hollowbody void in my life.
February 21, 2009 at 11:27 pm #93787julianModeratorI like the Lyle a lot.

My only real reservation is the neck. Whenever I play one, the neck feels kind of thin to me, and I’m more of a big, fat neck fan. Perhaps I’ll just have to get used to it. Might fit it with some TV Jones pups, too.

i’ve been meaning to to change my pickups to TV Jones for the longest time, but i’ve been too lazy to.

His work is pretty epic, heroin and otherwise.February 25, 2009 at 9:05 pm #93945BlueSteelParticipantQuote:Quote:To imalways: Does your username have anything to do with the song “I’m Always” by John Frusciante, because he and Flea are in your avatar. i love that song and that album its on.It sure does.

His work is pretty epic, heroin and otherwise.I love all of his work even when he was high, i think Smile From The Streets You Hold and Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt are probably the most creative albums i’ve heard along with his other albums. it’s just pure genius.
His new album The Empyrean is really amazing too.

I agree whole heartedly.
When I heard Niandra Lades for the first time, after years of recording on tapes…
I dunno man, it did something wierd to my brain.
Listening to something, that though nothing at all like my music; but somehow had the same aesthetic and did the same thing in my head.anyways… I’ll spare the thread of any more hero worship. heheh
February 25, 2009 at 9:32 pm #93952imalwaysMemberOh yeah, the Empyrian is pretty dope for sure.
