I don’t think I’ve seen that Hondo II model before, but I can see it is why it’s low on the totem pole. It’s pretty beat up, plus
If I were to fix it up here’s what I’d do:
1: Route for new bridge- bigsby or tune-o-matic
2. Get a P-90 for the neck
3. Put a LP junior pickguard
4. refinish the guitar TV yellow
5. replace the nut- that one looks like one of those cheap plastic ones that wear away to fast. My Hondo II Les Paul had that problem
6. Replace the tuners- unless the tuners are good, which they may be. I never replaced my tuners and my Hondos never go out of tune.
7. Replace those cheapo looking knobs
Don’t know if it would be worth it for that guitar. But if you like the neck and body it would be cool.
A vintage 1966 Fender Mustang, daphne blue, One of the tuners broke so I replaced the whole lot with Gotoh Klusons. I put a DiMarzio super distortion humbucker in the bridge (single coil size) and a SD Jaguar Antiquity in the neck because stock vintage Mustang pickups are very low output. I also increased the pots to 500kA as stock they are 250kA.
A Japanese Fender Jaguar, vintage white, that I put humbuckers in (routed it myself) its got a DiMarzio super distortion in the bridge and a PAF in the neck, 500kA pots, and new switchcraft switches/cloth wire etc.
A Squier Jagmaster, 3 tone sunburst, modified slightly. I put a Japanese Jaguar pickup in the neck, rewired it so each pickup has its own volume control and you can blend them with the 3 way switch and volume controls.
A Hohner JazzmasterXJaguarXstrat type guitar , pastel green, thats modified and has one pickup in the bridge and is tuned to F#F#F#F#F#F#.
I been wanting another guitar for a while, I’ll either get a Jazzmaster or a PRS tremonti, I’m currently undecided…just as well cause I cant afford either at the moment anyways.

tune the high strings to EB and then you’ve got a Sonic youth evol era tuning
My main guitar is an ESP ltd ec-400, mahogany body & maple, and I think an ebony fretboard (or a dark rosewood?), see-thru-“black”-cherry (actually a deep cherry red colour), with two Suhr Doug Aldrich humbucking pickups, with a coil-tap and improved tone pot.
My other guitar is an ESP ltd ec-100qm, agathis body with quilted maple top & rosewood fretboard, also see-thru-black-cherry, and has two Seymour Duncan humbuckers, an SH-8 Invader in the bridge, and an SH-2 Jazz in the neck.
