For messing around at home on guitar, I’ve got the vox DA5, which is a really fun little practice amp with lotsa digital effects that actually sound pretty good.
For band practice I run my fretless bass into a Sunn Coliseum Lead (I just got the reverb and tremelo fixed and they sound killer) into a Hartke 1X15 and 2X10 bass cabs with aluminum cones. My drummer hits pretty hard, and I still haven’t had to take the thing over 2.

I also own an old 40W Marshall ‘Valvestate’, but it’s with a friend back in Hungary. I also have a solid state Park G10 practice amp in my Budapest apartment, just in case. Then there’s Guitar Rig 3 on my PC laptop, and a Line 6 Pocket Pod that I don’t use that much nowadays (as long as the neighbours don’t mind).

Maybe an ac30.ac30 is sweet, I’d love one. I just got the ac4tv for my b-day, and it sounds really great. 4 watts of mind-blowing tube power! :metal:

February 4, 2010 at 11:40 pm #107141merdujaponMemberI have three in the house but I only really use the JCM900 at the moment:
I bought this a few years ago and it took me a long time to actually like this. I don’t rate the lead channel on it at all, it’s so woolly and muddy no matter what setting i have it on, but i gave it another chance and the first channel is great and takes my pedal set-up really well.
This was the first amp I bought; Roland Cube 30. the recording out is BRILLIANT on this and takes pedals really well on clean. Great for using a MicroKorg or for vocals in practice.
This is my dad’s amp but he barely plays any more so it’s more or less under my upkeep. Does plenty of things well.

I HAVE A FINDER FRONTMAN 2/12
AND A PEAVY 112February 23, 2010 at 11:13 pm #107877PabloMemberFor gigging I’ve got an old Vox AC30 from the seventies and a Fender Bassman reissue.
For home playing, there’s nothing better than the fart box that is my beloved Fender Champ 600.
I love that thing more than the other two. -
