I think this is in the proper forum…

    I just noticed this today…

I was doing some research on the Flanger Hoax…I got one today for $125 off Craigslist! woohoo.

Anyway, the input is on the left and the outs are on the right…isn’t this really weird? I mean, it is made in the USA…and all the other pedals I have looked at have the input on the right…

Any idea why they did this? I know it is kinda nitpicky…but yeah it is a little hindering to the nice flow of my pedals.

The HOG is the same way, and I woud imagine the 2880 too. I guess it’s just the way they set up that particular box. I don’t get it either.

The best solution I’ve found is to buy some slightly longer patch cables and pretend the design makes sense.

Congratulations on the find! I was creeping your Myspace and I quite dig the tunes, I can see the Flanger Hoax working wonders for you.

hey man thanks for those kind words about the music.

yeah i am working on building my own pedal board…it just makes things a little more complicated as far as organizing everything…nothing some longer patch cables cannot fix i guess.

I have quite a few pedals that are like that…

the deucetone rat, Award/Session sessionmaster, my EHX EQ has the input on the left too (even though the in and out are right next to each other, so it doesn’t make much difference)…I think fuzzfaces are input left too if I remember correctly (it’s been a while)

I’m not sure when ‘right in’ became the standard.

I don’t how guys come up with boards like these, and keep them that way.

I’ve had to give up on any notion of building the A-type personality pedal board. It’s just not ever going to happen with me. As soon as I cut cables to specific lengths, and find the perfectly sized pedals to optimize real estate, I’ll get bored with it and screw it all up again. I’m just too much of an experimentalist. And many of my favorite pedals have weird sizes and jack placements.

I know what you mean. I change the pedals on my board every couple of months.

    That’s a bit far-fetched.
