I have a VOX 847 and currently looking into getting a new wah.
Have narrowed to the above
Feedback is much appreciated.
Price not the issue, performance first.

December 15, 2009 at 6:49 am #105369blackdogParticipantI would like versatility, wide sweep as I play a variety of music eg. Hendrix, Zep, Clapton, AC/DC, Sabbath, Eagles, Dire Straits, Rainbow – mostly rock and blues from the 60s & 70s
I don’t mind paying a bit more.
December 15, 2009 at 7:10 am #105372julianModeratorHmmm, really no clue here. I had a GCB-95 and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner with distortion and sucked tone horribly. So I got rid of it. I have a DOD-FX17, but it’s not what you’re looking for at all.
December 15, 2009 at 8:17 am #105373Mr.GrimMemberim currently using a CryBaby Classic with “Fassel” GCB-95F. and i like the sound a lot, its one of my more favored wah’s ive owned. the only problem is keep a spare footswitch lying around. because mine broke after using it for one month, sumthing inside it snapped and it stayed on. luckily it was a quik 10 minute fix since i had a spare lying around, seeing i make/mod pedals once in a while and build guitars. ive never had a switch go bad on me in a Dunlop like that before but when searching online, i guess im not the only one.

It sounds good with distortion and without. I can’t imagine anything being much of an upgrade from it, but I don’t use wah that often. I don’t know how close it is to the Clyde deluxe.
December 16, 2009 at 8:16 am #105425DarkAxelParticipantMXR CAE 404 when you ask me i’m actually gasing very hard for it… but it’s a bit pricey
it seems like an awesome machine, wide sweep, very broad possibilities of sound… and the built in CAE boost can be very handy (i had a CB Mister wah/volume which has built in MXR booster and it was very cool)
right now i don’t have any wah and because of the price of 404, i’ll probably get Morley Bad horsie
December 17, 2009 at 7:45 pm #105488B.DawsParticipantI have a heavily modded Crybay that rocks but I had to put many component changes a red fasel and the BC109s in there to get it to the point I wanted. I have a Rocktron Black Cat Moan and it is pretty cool. Also the WH10V2 will be out soon and I have already preordered it. Clyde’s are the standard for many wahers but to get the best wah I think you have to customize it to the sound and sweep you want. You can always widen the sweep by changing out minimal components.
December 18, 2009 at 1:48 pm #105521spaceshotMemberi wish Electro Harmonix would release some wah and expression pedal encased effects. I heard they were in the works a year or two ago, biggest hurdle would be tooling for the enclosure. Does anyone know where EH is at on this project?
