is it an awesome amp? i’m currently selling my Laney VC30 and i have a chance to buy this amp for really awesome price… i could get it for the money from the sell of Laney and pay the rest later. It’d mean that i’d have to work alot during the holidays, but i think it should be worth the amp
so what do you think? i’d totally go and try it first, but i’d like to hear your opinion
Sorry Axel, I’ve never played one – but if it’s anything like the much cheaper AC15C1 it will be AWESOME.
I recently picked up a new AC15C1 (not the custom classic – this is the new one with two channels and a greenback) and it sounds UNBELIEVABLE straight out of the box. It’s loud enough to gig with too!
Vox amps RULE mate and the H1TV looks amazing. I don’t think you would regret it.
actually when i count it, the AC15C1 plus the blue speaker would cost me app. the same as the Heritage from my friend i don’t know… we’ll see how i’ll like it
Another thing to consiter is skipping the blue speaker. While they make the amp do one sound really well it limits its over all versatility. The greenback they come with now sounds great and it can handle a lot more volume before distorting so it will work better with distortion pedals and things.
I agree about the greenback. I think it sounds way better than the Wharfedale in the cc1, and with two channels the c1 is like a mini ac30 that one person can actually lift! 😆
I recently bought a used (but in mint condition) AC15HTVH head and the V112HTV cabinet and it sounds amazing, I love it. I bought it from some guy on Craigslist that turned out to be the lead guitarist in Rammstein. He said it didn’t fit his style.
Before I bought the Heritage head and cabinet I went to a Guitar Center and first played the AC15C1 and I loved it and thought this is the amp for me. Then I played the AC15H1TV immediately after the AC15C1 and thought it sounded better! After a little going back and forth I thought the Heritage was worth the money. The H1TV has more of a vintage tone, it sounds like a classic amp to me, the C1 is a bit more modern sounding though more versatile.
Personally for me, I get all the different sounds such as distortion, reverb and tremolo from pedals, I don’t need those from the C1 so I went with the amp that sounded better just on its own.
I gigged with my Heritage head and cabinet for the first time this past weekend and it sounded so good!! A couple other guitarists used it for their sets and I thought they sounded great also. I moved up from a vintage 60’s silverface Princeton (was just not quite loud enough) and I am totally in love with the Heritage setup.
and i’m not sure about the C1 either… we’ll see, i’m gonna try some amps during the holiday and then pick something… i fear i won’t be able to post here, because i’ll be ashamed that i started with AC15H1TV and ended up with something from bullshit-amps (insert what you don’t like)

fenriz, from Voxes i know the AC30CC2 pretty well and the laney is kinda similar, but not really the same it has this beautiful, warm sound of EL84s, but to me, the AC30 sounds more jangly and sharp, when the VC30 is more jazzy – more vintage, round sound. I’m talking about clean channels of course
when it comes to drive channels… the VC30 sounds – again – more vintage to me. More r’n’r vibe, kinda muffled, but bare-boned sound. The AC30 drive top boost channel has more clarity, edge, it’s more pronounced and modern…
the VC30 has a full 3-band EQ, but i use it only for boosting mids a bit. I like the VC30’s reverb a bit more than the one on the AC30 – don’t know why
these are just my opinion, but in general:
AC30 = more jangle, edge, more modern sound
VC30 = more rounded, jazzy, vintage, mainly usable for clean sound (but oh how pretty it is!)
Flick: unfortunately not, but i’d like to stick to tube amps
Guys, please… don!t recommend me any other amps… i don’t wanna waste your time with this – i’m really terribly indifferent when it comes to purchasing something new
Well I always tell people that want a tube-amp but (that are really newbie) to get a ac15 not an ac30 because if you turn the knobs of the ac15 all the way it’s not such terror as an ac15..
And Vox makes the most affordable but pretty high-end combos at the moment.. So just get it while you can!
handcrafted in Prague, Czech Republic (i’m czech, btw), new Celestion V30, new selected JJ tubes
4 El84s, but man… it sounds more like a fender amp! ridiculously beautiful clean channel with really awesome bright switch (not harsh at all!), cool crunch (but still i’ll be using my Jekyll&Hyde;), XLR emulated output
i’m astonished by the Volume pot – i’m able to dial in a volume usable in the night without making neighbours even notice my playing but still it can totally scream when you want it to
and the price couldn’t be better
it handles distortion pretty well, it’s not that huge sound as with the VC30, but that’s because this is smaller than the VC30, so it’s logical
