I wish EHX would add a volume knob on the Flanger Hoax because of the volume drop with most settings.
anyone agree with me?

Volume knobs on all pedals! And stereo in and outs on all pedals too! (but volume knobs would be easier and more important to do).
P.S. I would also like expression inputs on all pedals, ESPECIALLY distorsions, to control the gain.

October 31, 2009 at 10:19 pm #103077Fender&EHX4everModeratorI’m not an engineer, but wouldn’t that mean putting some kind of an amp circuit in every pedal?
And if that were true, then would you have pedal-geeks saying, “I don’t like the preamp in those pedals?” much like pedal-geeks often say, “I don’t like the buffers in those pedals?”
And then we’d be back to, “I wish the Hoax didn’t have that preamp built-in so I could use my ****** preamp instead.”
Lots of pedal-geeks already complain about the DMM’s preamp, for example.
Someone please clarify.

(some even are overwhelmed by 3 knobz on a trempedal…)

November 1, 2009 at 3:34 am #103086Mr.GrimMemberyes, volume changes, i hate them….
EH is my all time favorite, and all 30+ or so pedals i use are all EH except 2 (classic cry baby with fasel, and BBE sonic stomp)but i don’t remember having volume problems with my boss pedals when i first started playing.
but the 2 that i most notice having issues with these days are my Holier Grail, it has a big volume drop when engaged , and my Small Clone, has a very noticeable volume boost when used.
irritating!

the obvious advantage to this method is that you have full control over the preamp you’re using, so aside from having to add a TB loop to your board, there’s no necessary compromise in sound quality.
